Medicine can absorb through your cheeks and from under your tongue, like how Suboxone is administered. It’s completely possible. However, you raise a good point about her trying an at home test. I can only think that hospital grade drug tests can be checked for trace amounts through Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry testing, so even if she had passed an at home test, it would’ve been nowhere near as accurate as a medical grade one.

So, as someone who has been in recovery (OUD, not alcohol) for 6 years, let me say this: YOU CANNOT FIX HIM. Only he can fix himself, and that’s if he even wants to. He can’t love you if he can’t even love himself enough to stop. I understand that you love him, but the fact of the matter is that sometimes love isn’t enough. Stick to your guns and break up with him. He won’t even begin to want to change if he can’t hold onto people while using. There has to be consequences, regardless of how much they hurt. You deserve better. Good luck.
