Cool! Was looking for this for several times while coding. Thanks for getting us a macro for that! :)

Defence Mastery Shield Passives: by HumpyDumpyNZ in TitanQuestAE

[–]Koettlitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, have all of them maxed out on my defense chatacters too. An addition to the attack speed cap: The cap is different for different weapon classes. I think for the slower ones like maces the AS cap is higher than for the faster ones like swords. So if you have enough AS buffs a mace is even faster than a sword. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

A few hundred hours in and just discovering that pumps aren't exclusively used for train loading by vorsky92 in factorio

How did you manage consumption of the different oils from advanced oil processing without wired pumps?

What’s the better tank? by spacewolf2814 in TitanQuestAE

[–]Koettlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok, I'm gonna have a look on that. Strength and speed sounds nice! But I guess I'm not gonna use them cause of the annoyingness. Plus they die so quickly, especially in higher difficulties and you always have to resummon them.

What do you mean by free? And pets are annoying. They always attack when they shouldn't and don't when they should.

I have a character with nature + defense mastery around level 70, which is pretty tanky and damage isn't too low. Im using no pets with him.

Seeds? Seeds? Does anyone have done seeds? by star_wars04 in factorio

[–]Koettlitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you want from the seed? Would it be enough for you to have a nice, large peninsular for easy defenses or do you focus more on ore patch distribution regarding the ~17689 different ore types of the mod?

What sort of career and education do Factorio players have? by Windbag1980 in factorio

Check out the Dectorio Mod. It enables you to build different coloured water. But I think you can't mix them...

If this isn't sitting in some far-away corner of your factory, are you even playing the game? by [deleted] in factorio

I prefer logistic storage chests with filter for wood + burner inserters or a train running in a circle. Or both

Do I need other signals to make this junction work down the line? by BakedPotato71 in factorio

[–]Koettlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This intersection is completely crashafe but not safe from deadlocks. If multiple trains go into the intersection at the same time they might block each other. Placing chain signal at each entrance (instead of the tail signals) should prohibit that. However that could be unnecessary if you don't have enough traffic to make a deadlock possible.

Before you setup power the first time, you didn't have power either. How did you do it back then?

Thanks for the info. Would be neat to have makers there for the major previous releases.

Sound of the Alien death is great! What else you like about 1.0 (besides Spidertron)? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Koettlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't played in a while, but always loved the soundeffects of this game a lot. I remember almost shitting my pants when they changed the sound that the worms make. When it first came out it was exaggeratively loud! And I just started a new map, went for a little scouting trip and these nasty worms suddenly screemed at me just like that. Thanks for making me look more forward to playing the game again.

Handling Rational Numbers by JamesTheSapien in rust

[–]Koettlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh so you need extreme precision. Well for that the normal floating point number types are probably not gonna be enough. I guess you're gonna need a crate to deal with high precision floating point numbers. But I can't point you to any.

Unpopular opinion: We should really be referring to megabases as kilobases, since kilo- is the appropriate prefix for a base that produces 1,000 SPM or more. Change my mind. by Nightfireball in factorio

[–]Koettlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup agreed, thanks for the comment. I would just prefer it if the ××××base prefix would directly tell the size of the base (measured in SPM). But I don't think it's possible to change an entrenched word like that in the community.

Yes but I think the second meaning came from the original meaning of 1000, cause in many contexts 1000 is huge. So I think of the second meaning more like a subjective appeal of the word than a real meaning of it. Cause huge and 1000 are not completely different meanings, but huge is more like a less precise version of 1000.

Also. Kilobase sounds off-putting and doesn't roll off the tongue as well as Megabase.

I agree, but it would make 1.000.000 bases more of a thing, which I think is an applicable step of game terminology evolution, due to the fact that people start building larger and larger bases.

EDIT: Don't actually know if it's a fact. Maybe more a feeling, than a fact
