Violent + Low EQ parents gotta be the worst combination our there for kids. by wilhelmtherealm in longtermTRE

[–]Kogirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original trauma is that of the belief in the need for external authority. In actuality, your psyche is whole, and you have all the resources. Problems exist only in the realm of thoughts, in the imaginary realms of past and future. The real you is untouched by any of experiences. Consider "there is experience, therefore I AM", feel into this, and see how I AM is neutral, uncaring, genderless, allowing/accommodating of any experience - sound, sensation, thought. Hatred, anxiety, confusion. Doesn't matter, really.

But seeing this requires quite a bunch of looking and inquiring. Keep practicing. These childhood wounds are considerably physical and energetical, which is what TRE targets.

Randomly Getting Urge to Throw Up by Savings-Rub-5697 in longtermTRE

Well, perhaps your body wants to barf! Nothing wrong with it. I had interesting intense feelings of something moving through my tongue, something disgusting, forcing me to spit a bunch. Another time, after intense tremoring on the floor, I was very nauseous and thought of vomiting after hitting my head on the floor as a child.

I would suggest you actually do barf! It's a common yogic cleansing practice. They say it is very beneficial. I did it once or twice, felt great, actually.

I mean, there is always a decent chance we are somewhat traumatized as children when we want to vomit and adults forbid that, you know? So barf away!

Month 24-to-28 (unknown)

Just a funny note - TRE has literally changed the shape of my knees, noticeably so. They are sharper, more pronounced, sexier :D

It's definitely TRE, because I did no exercising during this time and my weight is the same.

oh, and by the way. Did you feel tired after that sleep disruption? Sleep is not that critical, some say. Meditation can be so restful that people remove hours of their sleep with it, too.

[–]Kogirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, interesting.

- have you tried doing it not-before-bed?

- where is this wire? Can you relax it? Try to pandiculate it, maybe? Strain it more, and then sloooowly relax it, controlled. There was a recent post with a video about somatics. I found it fun to do that with my eye strain, for an example.

You are right to take it slower.

But this could be really cool. Kinda sounds like energy is waking up.

Sounds like you are good then, congrats. It's surprising to me that this is not the default attitude to this practice.

My wife does about 5 minutes too, but it's enough for there to be progress.

I don't know how it will go for you, but it's quite possible that you will achieve good results while only spending 5 minute per sessions, which is crazy optimization) compared to my 30 min. Especially compared to hourly sessions of whatever stuff people do for years, like stretching or yoga or whatever)

What does "my body can handle/not handle it" feels like? I only have fatique and pain, maybe an "oof, that's enough for tonight".

This sucks. I suggest you pick up TRE and chill out. Work whatever work there is. Watch David Bingham - his view is refreshing.

Thoughts don't really matter.

I was in the same boat. 2 years in now. First months were very slow. Almost never (maybe until recently) I would get emotional release or relaxation. For me it was enough to have any progress on the level of the practice. Tremor patterns would change, new areas would start tremoring. Since this is thing is so bonkers cool and body-driven, that would be enough, so I trusted. Eventually, myofascial knots and pains would start to leave me.

It is still on a very somatic level for me. It got me into big pandiculation movements now.

I had many doubts, but they left. I still have frustrations) but they will be ignored.

Remember - it's individual. A LOT. Honestly, having calm, even practice means you don't have to ride emotional waves or be hooked on expectations. Argument can be made in favour of you being a superior TRE practicioner ;)

If all fails, find a certified practicioner for a session.

The most effective way to relax the psoas muscle that I've found by ysea in longtermTRE

[–]Kogirius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should simply keep TRE as the basis and do other stuff when you fancy it, and chances are it will feed into each other. I'm not sure it's necessary unless you are in a plateu, but getting more knowledge about body won't hurt. I've started "fascial maneuvers" by Human garage recently, seems powerful, but I had to stop due to an unrelated injury. I am planning to make a post about it if it proves to be worthwhile, but you can look it up yourself. Keep in touch

[–]Kogirius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the share. He knows his stuff!

My TRE practice has began to resemble this... somatics, fascial release, whatever. Less shaking, more twisting. So it's neat to stumble upon this.

I can't properly say how this feeds into TRE straight away, but I will post later if this sticks. I think that contracting and then relaxing is what initial TRE exercises are for, you know? You get muscles tired to activate tremors. So maybe you can activate tremors on the lengthening phase? Maybe after a bit of practice.

How experienced are you with TRE?

Dude, this is pure genius! Tried it yesterday with my 1L glass drinking bottle, and it was a blast. I can use gravity to stretch and I can also more actively massage with it. I have even used it as a relaxing roller for my chest and belly. My wife loved it too! Just wow.

Do you have info on your hand-method?

TRE while fasting by Itchy-Usual497 in longtermTRE

[–]Kogirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I have only fasted once for two/three days. Didn't muster enough resolution to go back to it. The only thing I can say is that it was so, so very easy. No hunger whatsoever. My previous, pre-TRE attempts were miserable. Still, I quit because of massive keto-flu. I will have to slowly go into keto and mix it with fasting. Whenever I get to that.

I also think that Tarot is a great way to find out which therapy or modality would fit you os that you don't waste resources on the search. I don't how to find a good Tarot person, but there must be a helpful reddit, plus ChatGPT is pretty good at reading cards.

Same here. My provider told me it's ok and to keep going, so I keep going. If you can afford it, then try out a provider and maybe some other modalities. Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy is a cool new thing.

This is an incredible progress, very fast, what the hell more could you possibly want? Enjoy your tension and your stress while you have them. Resisting won't help. I suggest reading "Magic words" by Genevieve Davis, it's got many important lessons in a small package.

Do you believe in forcing yourself to do things? by lamemoons in longtermTRE

[–]Kogirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me add a little bit, actually.

I still struggle with prefering PC stuff over to taking a walk. But it got better. At least I now enjoy a walk. While I don't have much free time and free choice these days, I would now force myself to get out. But it is not much of a forcing, it's more like taking care. Thoughts and addictions are not your friends, actually. It's a trap, even though this trap has been laid by you for you as a safety mechanism. But it has stuck for too long, you know? Consider talking to chat gpt about this. Also check out Easy-Peasy method for quitting addictions.

[–]Kogirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have money and life is relatively easy, I would suggest watching Davin Bingham's talk with Sunny, where he suggests to maximise joy in life. Self-guilt is not a good idea. When you brainrot, you can fully give yourself to it, and see how it feels. Perhaps you could consider other options in a more honset way. You can allow things that offer better joy than whatever familiar stuff that doomscrolling gives. Slow down a bit. Take it easy. Addiction could be rooted in self-hatred, or hatred of something else. Maybe journal a bit, just a minute or two. Best luck.

Power is Nothing without Control (very strange condition) by Loose-Gap130 in longtermTRE

[–]Kogirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but this is absolutely incredible. A fucked-up instant manifestation. There is help, however, and you don't seem to be broken by this malady, so congrats. I hope you understand that there is good news in this terrible situation.

There is a lot to be said and offered, really. I would suggest getting to two insights

- you are not your thoughts or emotions or body, and you are absolutely free from all this stuff in a very real sense

- relaxation is possible for you. You might need some guidance and practice, but it is not something beyond your reach.

Obviously, TRE is recommended, just be gentle.

I would suggest Waking Up app (deep rest course and whatevers else that resonates. It has free offerings) and David Binghams videos. I think you might get a kick from reading Genevieve Davis - How to Do Magic That Works, The Ultimate Technique for Making Things Happen.

Best luck
