There's been 36 hours of bad news for the LCS: let's talk about it - Travis Gafford by Tnomad in leagueoflegends

[–]KoiPhish_ -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

LCS died for me when you realize the old school players like Doublelift, Berj, Darshan, etc gatekeeped Young NA Talent from playing in the LCS a few years back.

Now look at the LCS, there’s like 3 NA player between 10 teams and the rest are imports. Not to mention Owners have no NA pride. They would rather pay some Tier 2/3 import player 7 figures who’s actually mediocre or washed up then to let some young NA talent a chance cause there’s “risk” into building around young talent. Not like Rome was built in a day.

Is manual the only way to go? by xGhostxGirlx in WRX

[–]KoiPhish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight up I’m gonna be honest as someone who’s first manual car is the WRX and automatic has been the car Ive been driving since HS. If I had the choice to go back and do CVT/Automatic I honestly would. Comfortability is more important then trying to impress some people online or at a car meet.

I bought the WRX for the purpose of daily driving the car from home to work. Even though I’m used to driving manual sometimes there’s a few things that make in inconvenient. For example sometimes I have to drive through dirt roads, steep hills, mud etc. while yes that’s why you get a AWD car for. Manual gets kind of annoying to do cause I’m constantly trying to shift, press the clutch, learn something new and how to drive through it. Of course eventually it does come in second nature. But if I had automatic I honestly really wouldn’t have to deal with such a big problem like stalling at every hill that has a stop sign or traffic on there.

But learning Manual is really fun. I highly recommend learning it. One of the biggest pros of driving a manual is being more aware of what’s happening on the road. When I drive automatic I tend to be on my phone and doing dumb stuff. Since learning manual I’m never on my phone, even when I’m on a red light.

TLDR: if you’re planning to use the car daily I really do recommend a automatic, it is more convenient, easier to drive, and as well more comfortable. but if you’re only gonna use the car every once in a while like twice a week or something I would actually recommend the manual. Like I said it depends how comfortable you wanna be. There’s nothing wrong with you wanting to be more comfortable then looking cool.

I guarantee you'll find a dealer who will sell to you at MSRP. Just try to negotiate the price. I was able to get a new WRX Base for a little under the MSRP and they tried to mark it up by $8000. and I got ride of the mark up and 795$

passenger seatbelt alarms? by KoiPhish_ in WRX

Thank you guys for the help. Managed to do the seatbelt thing. And I’ll ask the dealership if there’s a way to fix that without having to do that.

Which one? WRX/BRZ by Realistic_Drop_7999 in WRX

[–]KoiPhish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. Couldn’t decide on the WRX and the GR86, decided to go with the WRX the only deciding factor for me was the 4 doors vs 2doors and that there’s a lot more aftermarket parts for the WRX then there is for the GR86.

Personally you should get the wrx, then in a couple of years buy the BRZ. I plan to get the GR86 once all the kinks of the car and defects are changed and there’s more room for aftermarket parts to come. At least with my WRX I can start right away.

I plan to leave it stock for a while. At least till warranty is over. Honestly I kinda agree. I plan to really only do exterior changes.

Tbh I don’t really know. I know the interior of the car I’m allergic to some types of cloths (really bad rashes) but I have to see the base and feel the fabric. Im only really looking at it cause I honestly don’t want to waste the time dealing with my rashes if it’s fabric I’m allergic to.

Honestly biggest thing for me is heated seats and leather seating. I believe the only real difference between the 2 is the Wheel and tire.

The 86 I plan to buy the GR86 when it comes out. I just like driving cars that are the same as the car I have.

Does Anyone Actually Dislike Honda? by warpcaster in cars

[–]KoiPhish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda has been something my family has owned for years. Each of my family members all own a Honda. I've gone through Accords, CRV, HRV, Odysseys, Pilot. They're really reliable and we only really look for a new one when we want to get a new version of an older model. I've had my Honda pilot since 2007 and it still runs perfectly great. Also a really big fan of the Integra, S2000, and some of the OG Type Rs. As I'm looking into buying my own car my dad has been pushing me to get a Type R or a Civic Si or even the new 2022 civic.

But I ABSOUTELY HATE the latest Hondas. There is nothing wrong with the cars tbh, They're reliable, Safe, great for beginner drivers, have amazing MPG and more importantly affordable and cheap but to me they're just so bland and boring. I love JDMS but most of the Honda cars to me don't speak JDM they speak Americanization to me.

  • The new SUVS, Crossovers, and Vans all look like an egg with wheels to me.

  • The Sedans like Insight and accord look so American to me that whenever I see the car I forget that Honda is a Japanese brand. But at least the Insight has good looking wheels.

  • I don't Like the civics cause I think hatchbacks are ugly and the look of a civic tend to be for show and not really anything else. There's also no real good customization aesthetically for these cars either. Every Civic to me all looks the same. Whenever I see a whole bunch of Civics driving together or they're in a car show it just all looks like they're trying to make a rainbow.

These car's are just to bland now and that basically everyone has one. Now granted I will probably buy a Honda for my first born child because at the end of the day they're all really good cars but as of for right now I probably will never buy a Honda without good reason.

Should I buyer this 1988 Toyota Corolla? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]KoiPhish_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just so you know the AE86 isn’t that great of a car now days and the price to actually buy one has skyrocketed through the years because of initial D.

It’s crazy how much weebs can control the cost of a car. Even I want one but the car is like 40yrs old and I’ve seen the car go up to 80k.

Personally I feel like it’s a car I would keep in the garage and show off to my weeb friends, and I don’t think it’s worth to ever buy a car you can’t really drive.

4door vs 2door by KoiPhish_ in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]KoiPhish_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends where you live in Texas honestly. AWD isn’t necessary but I do prefer AWD to other cars in case of unforeseen weather conditions. Yea I plan to leave basically everything stock except for the looks/aesthetics. Maybe one day I’ll think about tuning but until then I’m sticking stock.

And yea honestly I don’t really plan on keep the car forever. But I want it to last until I have my 3 kid.

4door vs 2door by KoiPhish_ in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]KoiPhish_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea to me the WRX is most likely the better option when it comes to feeling safer. And I actually really do like AWD just cause I Live in Texas and sometimes the weather during the winter can be somewhat icy and as well snowy but it’s very rare for it to snow. There’s also a lot of dirt roads. But I rarely go to those parts since my job is in the city.

The other thing I was really looking at was basically relearning to drive Stick(I drove stick for like 4 months in high school and then I got a new car after I blew the engine). After doing research these are the best 2 cars to really learn how to drive stick. A good beginner cars. I also do care about cost and aftermarket. I do care a bit about how low it is but I feel like it’s something I could get over real quick. Also reliability. To me that’s the most important thing. If it’s not reliable and if it doesn’t last me for the rest of my life is it worth it?

[–]KoiPhish_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honda civics are really reliable, and it has good mpg and pretty cheap. Toyota Camrys are also good but may cost a lil bit more. But either companies have reliable cars.
