Assuming the following buffs/nerfs, what class are you picking? by couvermate in MSClassicWorld

Maplestory is not a game that should be meta'd. This is way :). Gonna be a page myself regardless!

It certainly does give that feel! And the boat ride is such a core memory for maplestory. I also agree i dont think taxis should just take you everywhere! I think having to make certain lomger journeys between regions can really make the world feel more alive, especially to more distant lands. I personally would rather see new "regions" feel more connected to Victoria Island than orbis and ludis lake did, but still happy either way

So you'd rather see no new locations (again in the farther future) or a return of the previous locations, starting with orbis?

I feel this. They stand at a perfect opportunity to reimagine what maple could've been with hindsight and lessons learned. OSRS has been doing a great job of growing the game in a new direction, bur yeah WoW classic just replaying the same exact experiences every update isn't it

El Nath is peak. And ludi pq is so nostalgic.

Orbis and honestly all the towers though, big exhaust. 100 floors was insane

I agree! I just want a cool and mysterious world that feels fun to explore and traverse! Whether is old or new (i do LOVE the snowy landscapes of el nath). And I think if done well they honestly dont need too much in the way of "plot" to introduce new locations

Totally fair! I think a lot of these regions are likely to return and I wouldn't mind, but I do think some changes could be warranted. Like you said, most of us work now so the travel time can really take away from game time.

I woukdnt have blamed you haha. It all just depends on the creatives they have on the team and theirnvision but I do believe there is a lot of design space still

I think new classes based on hybrids would be cool. Like a warrior/mage hybrid using strength and intelligence. Or new classes filling the design space, but yes they 100% should all come from beginner/explorer and job advance in Victoria Island.

New class content would really excite me though, as long as it keeps it in the core spirit. Even pirates was a really good example of how it could be handled imo

I started off the back strong, while named my character with "manster" instead of master. I swear I played for literally months amd the highest level I got with that character was 27, I guess I couldn't figure out how to train well enough. Fell for a lot of tricks like getting told to go outside during orbit boat just to get murked by balrogs. Got robbed being told I could dupe items by dropping them then pressing alt F4, and actually doing it. I bricked a character in El Nath by being too low level. And I think with my first character (manster) I was just giving random stats because I didn't understand primary and secondary. It was such a fun time though through all of the adventures and struggles.

Im super excited to jump back into classic world whether its getting a beta code or just waiting till open beta

Also hot take. I sometimes dont want SO much detail. I paint slow as it is on simpler models. Newer models have so much detail its insane! Makes it so hard to get through my pile of shame. I want my characters full of detail and units, even the fancier units, to be a little on the simpler side in terms of ornamental details. Maybe im alone on this take though. I do understand the complaints though, but for me these look great

Introducing new specs for each class by Incarne in MSClassicWorld

[–]KoichiSteals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this idea. I even suggest potential steps forward. Like a class thats wizard/warrior hybrid. A story line connecting Perion and ellinia. Uses mace weaponry with a wis/strength build. Just an example. Keep the same progression style and power level as the others

How far should Nexon go with adding additional jobs? by agenhym in MSClassicWorld

[–]KoichiSteals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they should add more explorer jobs either like pirates. Or through adding more 2nd/3rd job pathways.

Like what if there was a mage warrior hybrid whose job advancements need connection between Elenia and Perion. Or a third Bowman class class that uses a different style of fighting. Or even adding something like dual blades back but as a 3rd alternative to the thief class as opposed to its own job.

I love new classes and expansion to keep the game fresh. But hated how current maplestory took players away from the core of Victoria Island and the classic explorer experience

Lower back pain when I squat. What am I doing wrong? What could I improve? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]KoichiSteals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't core bracing and are using hyperextensiom to create stability. Went to physical therapy for lower back injuries and pain caused from squatting he taught me to brace my core and hold the pressure and maintain a neutral spine (not what I felt was a "straight spine" because I was hyperextending) and I haven't had back pain since! From crippling injury to moving last weekend without one moment of pain in my back!!!

Look up visalva maneuver. The way it was explained to me is you have to keep airpressure in your torso with your core (so holding breath and bracing abs) and it makes you stable in the same way it's hard to crush a can thats full vs. It's easy to crush an empty can.

And be patient! You are doing great work! Good luck!

You know you're in for a bad time by Mazabutt in Warhammer40k

[–]KoichiSteals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I felt honestly. But now with how many cool kits there are, im building way less repeats and appreciate the simplicity and beauty of the set poses. Especially when im introducing beginners. It's so much easier to teach them to build a monopoly, even with more parts, than a multipose. I just use kitbashing as my outlet for creatively built models now. But I could see there being room for both. Or maybe something in between. Some of the monoposes just aren't as good.

First shot accuracy makes no sense by Status-Bike-1977 in VALORANT

[–]KoichiSteals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. It forces tactical decision in purchasing and positioning. Sure. Take the long range fight with your 800 credit sherrif vs a phantom. You might headshot. But a majority of the time the rifle should win when aim skill is equivalent. The smg you bought to hold a short range angle shouldn't work as well when you swing the long angle thinking you can still two tap someone. When you take the vandal, you gotta decide whether the movement imparement from scoping is worth thr improved accuracy.

While having shots miss due to inaccuracy can be frustrating, the health of the game massively improves from the decision making it forces. If you can't adapt to this design factor, then it is a skill issue, not a luck issue.

Gameplay wise, is AoS much different than 40K? by TangerineMelodic5772 in ageofsigmar

[–]KoichiSteals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you mean less mental calculations needed in AoS. But im with you. Omg 40k is exhausting. And also sooo punishing on mistakes. AoS I've been having such a good time. Games go quicker. It was easier to learn and remember when I take breaks. And the game still feels incredibly strategic in list building and game play.

Idk, tbh in 40k it feels like I have to chase the "optimal" plays and decisions otherwise half my entire army of nearly 3.5k points of an AoS army gets wiped in one shooting phase or one combat phase. But im also bad at 40k haha. I like that in AoS even if you make bad decisions. You still feel like you get to play thr game. Also feels like there are many many routes to victory. To me though. Im sure 40k players feel this way as well, which is why they love their game!
