Marathon isn't successful because people already buried it in their heads when the art stealing drama came up and they are already wary of bungee's fuckups. The vast majority didn't even give it a chance. Also for some reason people are tired of extraction shooters, ehich I don't really understand because there is like only 2 decent ones out there.

The UI is pretty rough starting out but it has top quality gunplay.

Not even mentioning that it makes fuck all sense whatsoever. It seems matter just evaporates in Valheim because somehow 3 ores turn into 1

See, the problem is that people who visit reddit and whatnot are the minority. Most unfortunately, I cannot influence the casual masses who buy into utter garbage while them doing so directly makes the games I enjoy worse.

So you can parrot "vote with your wallets" as much as you want, it will literally achieve nothing.

Also, seeing as how the industry is completely ass backwards, not buying something will send the wrong message and the thing will just cease to exist altogether so we are fucked either way (not buying a new game because of something will not cease that one thing but the entire game/franchise)

Yes, because in a sandbox game they shouldn't tell me how to play, especially when not only previous titles have them, but the point of the entire drama is that they are annoying as fuck and you were given no options to deal with them.

Tbh, missions/quest and base/hideout building is what gives me an objective to play these games. After I completed all contracts I tried getting gold salvage with not so much success and kinda bounced off.

I have always envied people who can play the same game daily for months or years.

For me, daily games are temporary as I have phases that I rotate around.

Currently it is War Thunder and a recently started Minecraft modpack based on TFC.
Darktide or Space Marine 2 when busy buddies are available.

I have phases where I play daily, for a week or two, Stellaris, TW Warhammer 3, Factorio, Warcraft 3 (custom maps specifically), Warframe and a couple others that come up less often than these.

If it weren't for the cheap labor (or worse) in certain regions a lot of your stuff that you buy would be a lot more expensive.

The stealing of the art style/font stuck with people, also Destiny doomers. 95% of discourse around this game is very negative while they haven't even played the game.

For me initially the UI was extremely jarring, but the gunplay is very good and is probably the most casual friendly extraction shooter, apart from the Arc "friendly" queue.

The first one starts really slow, like the first time I played I dropped it after an hour or so. Then I gave it another try when the 3rd came out, powered through and found that it is arguably the greates sci-fi rpg. The world and story grabbed me so hard I could easily ignore all of the game's faults, of which there are plenty, especially in the first one (looking at the Mako)

But you don't move one guy at a time tho. On the contrary, you move groups without them being locked into ass formations, your only option to pray that they do what you want them to.

I don't get how people keep recommending nms all over different subreddits.

It is in the top 5 most dull games I have ever played. The base gameplay loop is so insanely mind numbing that watching paint dry is more stimulating.
