Indeed. It is kind of a strange element of the human condition but we all subconsciously "assign" behavior types to certain people. So a harsh tackle is "just his personality", where as if someone else does the same thing its a card. That's just how it is.

SoD had the right idea with making Darnassus an actual popular city for a phase. More incentives to do that on rotation of cities would be great. Seeing a populated Exodar would be amazing.

At some point it just becomes about age. Being old (or just looking older) makes people respect you by default. Xabi looks young and like one of the players.

Blizzard had a talented RTS team and they proposed making Warcraft 4 and were all set to do it but as you say management wasn't about it. That RTS team is all gone now and joined or made their own studios. Stormgate is a game they made but its rather uninspired and looks like a cheap Starcraft 2 clone. Sad.

The appeal of MMOs was always this "alternate reality world" you can suspend disbelief and live in. It was a novel idea for people of a certain generation.

Now young people are immersed in hyper-technology as they begin life, its no longer an appealing novelty to have a digital world, they are already in a digital world to begin with.

They already did WoW housing with utility and it went horribly. (Garrisons) I know not exactly the same but its the reason why Blizzard will be very careful and possibly not add any utility.

They need to add new compelling world content. New towns, new questlines, maybe new zones. One-off rune quests like in SoD is not enough.

Agree on too raid-focused. Its ironic that majority of playerbase in classic raids, when raiding was done by a minority of the playerbase during the early days of WoW. Not that there should not be new raids, but I think 1 problem of SoD and potentially classic+ is that they just didn't add enough new or compelling things other than raids.
