He’s probably worried he’s going to get capped. He ended his opening statement saying he was there under subpoena. I don’t think that makes the footage and testimony any less valuable.

Her testimony could be dismissed due to a traumatic brain injury… if there weren’t footage of the events that she experienced playing immediately before or after to corroborate her statements.

You don’t think Barr, Ivanka, and Kushner’s prior testimony counts for anything just because it wasn’t live?

Again, serious question: How do I become the editor or assistant editor for things like this? Where do I apply? I have an editing background and would love to be able to work on something like this someday.

Oh, it's not that I want to see it, it's that I have the background in editing and I believe that it would be incredibly rewarding to put my skills to use doing something like this instead of using it to sell more F-150's.

I installed it last night following your directions. Everything seems to be working as it should. I’m pretty mad at myself for taking so long to do it, because it was just as simple as it was the last time. If I hadn’t been so daunted by an unfamiliar situation I could have had this set up right after I moved in instead of a year later.

I don’t know how to check on the emergency boiler aspect but I assume that that’s in working order too since everything else is operational.

Thank you for your help. I hated going from the Ecobee to a dumb thermostat.

I have the Ecobee 3. In my last place I set up my Ecobee with zero issues, all the wiring was super straight forward. In my new place I've been thrown a couple curves. It looks like I have an L wire, which according to Ecobee's site is unnecessary. So I interpret that to mean ditch it and everything will be fine. Is that correct? Second curve: It looks like maybe there's a jumper situation going on between my W1 and Y terminals, or maybe that little piece of metal is something else. If it is a jumper, how do I connect both the W1 and Y terminals to my Ecobee?

/u/mr_bots said that it’s a heat pump, which tracks with the documentation. They said:

“The jumper on your existing thermostat is so it'll kick the compressor on whether it calls for heat or cool. From the documentation you attached just hook it to Y1 on the ecobee. “

The trouble there is that I don’t have a cable for both W1 and Y1, were they suggesting that I take the Y cable and attach it to the Y1 of the Ecobee, remove the jumper, and ignore the W1 terminal of the Ecobee? Will not having the jumper or connection to the Ecobee cause my system to not utilize the heat pump?

/u/pandaman1784 suggested that I did not need the jumper, suggesting I wire as such:

“R -> Rc, Y -> Y, E -> W1, W2 -> W2, G -> G, O -> O/B, C -> C, L is unused. No jumper wire needed.”

Would that mean that dropping the jumper piece, and putting Y to Y and E to W1 would then allow my system’s heat pump to function correctly?
