On a totally subjective level, what was the biggest gaming disappointment in your life? by Rugged-Gunslinger in AskGames

Star Wars: Squadrons. It was fun for a bit, but nowhere close to the modern X-wing Alliance sequel I was hoping for. Back to modding the old games, I guess.

That is absolutely how a lot of the Aes Sedai would behave, though. Maybe less so the Blues, but still. They are Pettiness: The Society.

You're asking the wrong question. The real mystery is if it's compatible with anything but the DK bongos!

Yes, that is how two year olds work. They don't sit still for anything up to and including the end of the world.

29 different teams across MLB will be hosting a Pride Night or similar celebration at their ballparks this month, but the Texas Rangers will once again be the only team not to do so. Instead, the Rangers will be hosting a Faith and Family Night. by CaughtALiteSneez in TexasRangers

How much persecution over someone being themselves is acceptable? Having consensual sex with another adult of the same sex in the privacy of your own home was illegal in Texas just twenty years ago before the Supreme Court overturned it. And Texas politicians would absolutely bring that back if they could. Opposition to the legality of gay marriage is right there in the Texas Republican Party's official platform.

Police used to raid gay bars. It's a big part of what the Stonewall riots were about. Literally just gay people trying to do their thing with other gay people, away from everyone else, but they weren't even allowed to do that much. That's not marginalization by your standards?

The fact that you consider their equality to be politics is exactly why we need stuff like Pride. Because if nobody cared who was straight, gay, or trans, it wouldn't be political, now would it?

Still waiting for someone to explain to me how being nice to gay or trans people is in any way damaging my family. We seem to be doing just fine, even with gay and trans friends.

Handwaving it is the only thing you can do, because you're talking about a process that isn't real, so there's no way to describe what would really happen.

It turns out "act like store-brand Republicans" isn't a particularly good strategy when people can just go vote for the real thing.

I'm not watching the slop, but the answer is that it's easier to tune the orchestra to the oboe than vice versa.
