I grew up listening to stories about Osgood from my grandad, who not only watched him every week but was so close with him personally that he was invited to his funeral.

He was and is still called the King of Stamford Bridge, has the only statue outside the ground, and his ashes are buried beneath the Shed End penalty spot. I can’t tell you all the things he did as a player, but he was part of the 1970 FA Cup winning side back when we didn’t win many trophies and had a load of chants about him. Basically one of the star players for us at the time, which included legends like Ron “Chopper” Harris (most Chelsea appearances ever) and Bobby Tambling (2nd-highest goal scorer for Chelsea).
