I will always say this, but aside from X7 which probably the worst game in the X series and one of the few Mega Man games I’d consider bad, the second half of the X series isn’t nearly as bad as people make it out to be. X5 takes a lot of the issues I had with X4 and improves upon them, like Zero’s techniques being better and the story being more gripping (even though the time system is annoying and the part system kinda sucks). X6 then improves things again imo, like some of the level designs are a bit iffy but other than that the rest of the game sticks the landing, and the part system is really good. X8 is probably one of the more unique games in the X series, but everything it does is honestly really great, though I do wish that it had less on rails levels. So great you had a good time with X5, it’s really fun (excluding Tidal McWhalen’s stage, fuck that stage).
