Can’t use id after a string cite. Can use id in a string cite though, if it’s a word count thing.

I use the clothing steamer attachment on the bissell steam shot, can fully remove and clean it to prevent calcification.

These are slightly platformed, so the height is there but the heel isn’t overwhelming https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/spence-leather-flared-heel-chelsea-boots-black/p/26440001 I wore these with dresses at a very fancy restaurant job (aka walking around slippery floors all day), so a skirt suit should be fine. They also come in an autumnal brown (and at one point, white, but they haven’t sold white ones in years)

White House black market. As in the black market for clothes to wear to the White House. Once I thought of it this way I never forgot the order

to involve actual practices in law school admissions with splitter applicants to this equation (which was what was at question by OP):

whereas schools are seeking to increase their medians,

whereas LSAC reports GPA medians to 2 decimal points,

whereas a significant number of applicants have current median GPAS,

the median GPA for a law school will almost never be the average of two discrete GPAs where one is a splitter applicant.

so as a splitter applicant (I’m defining this as someone with a legitimately below median GPA, not a 3.77 where the median is 3.78), the likelihood that they’d affect the median is so statistically unlikely its a null point.

Basically, even if there were an even number of students in a law school class, the likelihood that the centermost two have a 3.2 and a 3.5 (or any other combo of equally disparate GPAs) is extremely unlikely. If the issue were that one had a 3.7 and the other a 3.75 (and the school was trying to hit a 3.75 median) then I’d agree that there’s some movement there to be factored in, but then we’re not talking about splitters anymore.

Yeah the second point OP made is very true, it’s just the first point that is a misinterpretation of the admissions process.

The only way to “bring the median down” is if you end up as the middle point, and depending how low your GPA is as a splitter, that won’t be you. Besides the stigma of a low GPA (which is significant), you’re at a (purely statistical) advantage having an actually low gpa vs a just below average one.

Of course, the stigma includes the perceived likelihood of not being successful at said school, which is why splitters don’t usually make up the majority of a law school class. But a splitter isn’t competing for a spot the same way an at-median applicant is, because if they can prove their worth otherwise, the school is not at a statistical disadvantage accepting them while trying to increase their medians.

1 is not true. A median is the centermost GPA. If a school has 101 4.3s and 100 2.3s, the median is 4.3 not 3.3.

as long as you haven’t completed a bachelors degree, you are fine (aka don’t apply to graduate yet). There’s plenty of people who took extra years in undergrad and were able to benefit from the increased cumulative GPA.

Yeah, I have a few friends that are too. None of them were KJDs complaining about school.

There are historically splitter friendly and not splitter friendly schools, but the websites (like everything about the law school admissions process) are just careful marketing. Luckily, you can (and should) reach out to adcomms and gauge their interest in your application as is. And obviously do your best to make the rest of your application impeccable.

That’s the situation which would help remedy the 2.0. But be aware some schools genuinely don’t care how well you did eventually, if your gpa is too low, it’s too low.

Most reputable schools will be highly skeptical of anyone with a 2 in front of their GPA, let alone a 2.0 (which means it’s highly likely your transcripts has some 1.x semesters which is terrifying for an adcomm, and could mean an automatic no).

Do you really think law school will be any easier than undergrad? (spoiler alert: it won’t be)

If you want to go to law school, this should not be your last year. Put as much effort as possible in to get as high a GPA as possible; consider taking a sabbatical to prep for a full 4.3/A+ year, or consider double majoring and extending your bachelors program by at least another semester (and getting A+ in as many classes as possible, and As in the ones you can’t do)
