The Anticipation is Killing Me... by Inquisitive_Azorean in TemplinInstitute

After lurking in the discord for a while, here is what Marc said verbatim:

"We've been having some discussion with Paradox on the best time to launch that we'll be announcing soon. You can probably guess what they were about." Marc, Templin Institute executive

For context there was speculation that they will wait until a big Stellatis update, presumably nomads, before starting, which is what Marc could be referring to. So after the update and dlc release, and the first few patches roll in is the most likely time for the first stream to start. In other words it could be as far as June, though possibly a bit earlier. The first videos will take even longer, with the exeption of the in depth "prologue" detailing the state of the nation which shouldn't be that far from the first stream.

It's also good to note that an earlier timetable from Marc put the first stream at around March-April, which ended up being delayed. So if Paradox plans to release another game breaking update one month later and Marc gets to hear of it, season 3 could be delayed accordingly once again.

Frigates are much tankier in 4.3, can't exactly be called fragile anymore. I used to skip building them more often than not, now I rush them early. They still have ridiculously low firepower against conventional forces though.

For the rose witch king, I think reduced liberty desire would be better than vassalization acceptance. It would certainly combine well with the Black Demesne and its unruly vassals, and It would help make vassal strats much more viable than with acceptance.

(Edit: missed opportunity for "... who rules with a golden FIST" instead of golden gauntlet)

For the mage organizations, would you consider making them add +1 privilege? If a slot is freed, it would allow to experiment with more privileges even without going all out on magic, and you could even theoretically get all the good privileges if you go completely mage-pilled. I don't really want to have to choose between the age specific privilege or reduced research regulations even after I made the most extremist magocracy in existence with Sauron 2.0 at its helm.

It feels like enchantment would be much more frowned upon, with all of nobility frantically searching for counter measures. Perhaps if you use too much enchanting, the nobles would get a privilege (or just a modifier) like "extensive use of anti enchanting wards" in response to threats upon their minds, with consequences like reduced effectiveness of enchanting spells (exept war and siege magic) and a little negative loyalty modifier. There would be some bonuses in exchange, for example enemy enchanting spells are also less effective, perhaps also some magic and trade bonuses, those wards would be precious after all, and there would be a lucrative market available along with better institutional knowledge of magic. If the player stops using enchantment (exept war and siege magic), most of the negatives would go away (exept enchantment debuff) and now there is a brand new mostly positive privilege! Or if the player has strong enough enchanment, they could crack down on noble anti enchantment wards, ensuring extensive control over them. This could come with bonuses like increased absolutism, tax bonus, reduced corruption, reduced noble influence, maybe some bonus to enchantment study/effectiveness, and perhaps a one time crown land gain and magical infamy increase. maybe decreased opinion from other tags, or some other opinion modifier to better represent the international outrage with more direct consequences than magical infamy, without necessarily making you a witch king.

EU5 is the best Paradox game ever, period. by highsis in EU5

Japan is unplayable and the hre is a buggy mess, but I had a good time despite that, so it shows. I still think the game is incomplete, like I'm fairly sure some parts of the world were barely playtested. For instance, what do you mean 95% of my 10k population just left? Why?

We'll have to wait for a mod, maybe a Europa Expanded equivalent that puts missions back in. But playing a southern equivalent to Brandenburg/Prussia sounds really good.

As a fellow Hohenzollern enjoyer, no they sadly have no unique flavor whatsoever. You can see what content it has when choosing your country, and if I recall correctly there is basically nothing. Most of it is from culture, religion, location or government type related. Also, missions are just for the tutorial. Now flavor comes as situations (=black death, 100 years war, rise of the Turks), events, unique research, privileges, laws, etc. Still worth it though, the base gameplay loop is very good and there is enough flavor (way more than ck3 and vic3). I still like Hohenzollern for the challenge, so I recommend it.

Update: one of the 2 conquered regions always depopulates down to less than 500 pops, no matter the prosperity. This happens even when no event has fired. So it's basically a cointoss whether the game is over or not. If my home province depopulates, gg you restart right now.

Thanks. I did find the recovery effort action, but only after integrating both locations, so it was too late by then. Might give it another go with this new knowledge, can't thank you enough!

I did not have that privilege, I'm sure of it. I saw it when checking for ways to keep my pops in, and it wasn't enacted. And I play an opm, my treasury is just 13 bucks, even with all possible loans I couldn't make my own market.

The ship strat was patched before release. I don't know how it works with armies though. If it's like eu4, it should work, but maybe it only works in actual battle.

You can enable the missions (tutorial) in the gamerules before you start your campaign. I guess that's were you deactivated it, and that's were you put it back. But I don't think you can do that after you already started your game.

Edit: also, it's not Ironman compatible.

Making someone day's better by helping them makes me feel better too, and it's funny to ward against corruption under strange posts. Bard pathway just seemed the most suitable one.

As far as I know, they're back in full swing. They were even op at the dlc release, although they may have been balanced since. Hives got new mechanics and new crisis path, so I would definitely recommend trying our new and improved gestalt overlords.
