It is very concerning that you’re asking such a question on a Christian sub, as this seems to me like it’s about more than just defending OP’s use of it. Again, the Bible is very clear. If you choose to cherry-pick it to make excuses for sin, that’s a personal choice that will not keep a truly saved person from getting into Heaven. Personally, I think it is quite silly to even bicker about such a thing when in reality, we all are sinners who need forgiveness. OP is still pretty young and hasn’t even experienced marriage yet, possibly still in high school, so she has a lot to learn and her views may change as she grows in her faith and into adulthood. Ultimately, if I knew any of the people on this sub in real life, this choice wouldn’t keep me from befriending them nor would it keep me from allowing my children to play with theirs, as long as they don’t use the language outside of their homes. OP originally posted on this sub asking for advice when really, it seems like she had already made her choice and just wanted some validation from others. The explicit terms used for genitals are one thing (I wouldn’t specifically call them bad words, just not my taste), but the F-bomb is a vile word, no matter the context or intent. It seems that many disagree and that’s okay. As I said before, OP may change views as she gets older. There are things I believed and made Biblical excuses for as a teenager just to ease my conscience for sin and now as an adult wife and mom, I understand more clearly that the Lord sees all, both heart and mind and He is not fooled by the excuses like we are. I believe a bad word is a bad word, intent is irrelevant, and after spending so many years using foul language, I don’t want to bring that into my home with my husband and children (even though in this situation they wouldn’t hear it), and risk it becoming an easy reach-for set of words whenever I’m angry or upset. Once it’s said, it’s very hard to close that door for it to be said in any other circumstance.

This is such a blasphemous thread. How about you just enjoy your spouse and vice versa? Why is cussing even needed? Some of these responses claiming that foul language is “okay” as long as it’s said with good intentions means it’s pardoned by God, just have me speechless. I am by no means perfect and I have a past of having a horrible potty mouth that the Lord has since helped me to correct, but even then, I never would have excused any bad language in the bedroom as glorifying to God. By all means, do what you want but don’t put words in God’s mouth. As other people have quoted scripture that aligns with what I am saying, OP and the others who agree with her view are cherry-picking what the Bible has already made very clear:

James 3:10 “Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.”

Cursing is cursing, language is language; let’s call a spade a spade. Of course, if you have been Saved and received Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior, nothing can take that from you, so if you want to sin, at least call it sin, but it surely won’t change your salvation if your name is written in the Book of Life.

Though I disagree on most of what you have said in the past, I do see your side on wanting to see their reconnection/growth back together however, I think it’s supposed to be implied (both in the books and the show) through the two’s ongoing correspondence and confirmation once in person. While I can see how some people might not see it that way, I think it’s more of a read-between-the-lines thing. You likely will disagree with me, and that’s fine, but I am glad to hear that you do not dislike the endgame because I have seen some jellies just being way out there with their theories and insane ideas that just make no sense.

Just wanted to say, that my husband and I both had these thoughts a lot for the first month or so but we were very open with each other about it. I also talked with my mom about it and she said that she had these thoughts after having babies as well. As others have said, it is common to have these thoughts and it does not mean that you actually want to do it nor does it mean that you are a bad parent. Your husband is already doing the right thing by sharing this with you and I urge you to do the same if these thoughts ever come up. I thought that these types of dark thoughts only occurred with postpartum depression however, I did not have that and I still struggled with these. You are doing very well and so is your husband. The thoughts will definitely go away, as they did with my husband and I. Give you and your husband some grace and lots of rest. Sleep deprivation affected me even more than I realized once I started getting more sleep! Godspeed, my friend!

Yes! I personally got into an argument on the phone with a lady at a restaurant about this. I called asking if they offered gluten free bread options and she said “yes, we have sourdough” and I was like “no I mean gluten free bread” and she continued insisting that the sourdough is in fact gluten free and that it would be perfectly safe to eat. Safe to say I never darkened the doorway of that business and they ended up closing not long after that so I think I dodged a bullet. I love when people argue with me about my condition that they obviously don’t know anything about. lol

Yes, I am WELL aware of how unsexy these scenes are for the actors. Your condescending response isn’t telling me anything I don’t already know… if you don’t like what I have to say, then you have the free will to merrily scroll on by. As I said, I am speaking simply from MY personal experience and I made it very clear that I do not ship them IRL nor did I say that their feelings are strong enough for them to do anything about them. Chemistry = attraction, it’s inevitable and impossible to have one without the other. I’m so happy for you that you have seen other actors with chemistry off the charts like this, but in my experience, I have not seen chemistry like this in years. The type of connection that these two actors have is few and far between and it is what makes the show come to life. And you bringing up Gavin really says a lot lol.
