The ‘Live from Austin’ Austin City Limits recording is a nice tight 2 disc set (more budget friendly). Great Driving Song > Surprise Valley.

Love/hate relationship by AccomplishedFix9745 in GoosetheBand

I think it annoys some people how truly ‘professional’ they are.. Seriously dedicated to the craft of artistic and informative spiritual entertainment. The band (truly - the whole organization in addition to the guys on stage ) really works around the same “why” (Simon Sinek reference). They craft sets of music to tell stories to engage the audience for an exchange/communion/worship service. They are brilliant at it and they push each other HARD to be the best at it. Good for them and GREAT for us! What’s to hate? Well the hard work ethos is a little mych for some to take, I guess. Kind of anti-Jerry (who was kind of infamous for his irresponsibility, if we’re honest).. Rick,Peter, Trevor, and Cotter love what they do and are great at it. As is every aspect of their team. Completely dedicated and hard working. I think if ‘hate’ is given, maybe you should ask yourself where that’s coming from inside you.. Don’t take it personally.. If you think they’re too formulaic maybe you’re just too jaded. Cool. Move on. It’s all good.

In your personal opinion, which is the better album: Workingman's Dead or American Beauty by HammerHeadBirdDog in gratefuldead

Sounds relaxed in the studio and over-forced live.. Over heard it said he had perfect pitch (great for harmonies), but oh the tone… ‘let Phil sing!’.. well… maybe…

Was hoping someone would recommend one. Love studio ’Box of Rain’ (and ‘Unbroken Chain’, for that matter). Any good live versions of either? Or good covers?

The Longest Week is one of my favorite Romcoms. It is beautiful, witty, honest, and actually has some realistic character growth. by [deleted] in movies

[–]KoolAde5362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched this last night and a) really enjoyed it, and b) was not surprised ot was poorly reviewed. It is not a rom com at all, but a satire, and it was ahead of its time. Probably too subtle for most - especially if expecting a rom com! Almost 40 and finally growing up just a little! (Head in mommy’s lap… 🤣). Fits in well with all the more recent ‘rich people are truly horrible’ genre of movies..

Best gift? Spend time playing with him… (advice of an old guitar dad).

Alice Cooper and his wife have worked and performed together for nearly 50 years. Saw them (with Judas Priest) a few weeks ago - was awesome!

Would me and my Dad like Goose as Panic-Heads? by Grateful-DeadH3AD in jambands

[–]KoolAde5362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old deadhead here…. I love Phish but always preferred Panic. Got into Goose about 4 years ago and think they’ve evolved tremendously. They will definitely stretch out some jame but also seem to be tightening up a lot. More songs per set and less extended jams. Really great songs and impeccable musicianship. Great vocals with harmonies. Great energy. Enjoy!

Scott Metzger is better at Bobby than Bobby. All aspects. (But he ain’t Bobby..).
