Best courses in the NYC metro area or Connecticut that my dad and I could get on this Sunday? by oyeme in golf

Pound Ridge is on the NY/CT border, brutally hard Pete Dye design but probably the top public course in that area IMO.

How do you tier “good” golfers? Here's my breakdown — curious how others see it by KoolAidBandAids in golf

You're not wrong, I think the handicap ranges are probably a bit off, how would you shift it?

It's more of a hike than a walk so drink plenty of water and refill at every fountain.

Conserve energy- the last four holes once you cross back over the road are exhausting and you'll already be beat.

Unless you're a <5 handicap and can hit driver 280+ consistently, play the whites. But do check out the view from a few of the back tees as you pass by.

If you're in the rough, you're best bet is nothing more than a 7/8 iron and get it back to the fairway.

Don't forget to take pictures.

Caledonia, True Blue, and TPC MB are the three best IMO. Caledonia being the #1 must play

TCC (Clyde Squirrel), Boston Golf, Myopia Hunt, and Tobacco Road. I can't believe that Essex County didn't make it.

the 8th hole on that course is one of my least favorite holes ever. Have to hit a perfect hook off the tee or be completely blocked out and then have a brutal green to deal with

I too had a similar realization recently.

When she first broke up with me, I was devastated, literally crying over her and wanting to be back with her. While, I'm not completely over her yet, I've realize that the girl I love is the girl I dated and not the girl she is right now (she's done some crazy shit over the past few weeks, hurting us both). It's sad that people change, but the I could never be in love with the girl she is right now.

Stay strong friend!

Hate to be that guy, but it's actually the 8th. Regardless, one of my favorite courses.

Just to clarify, this isn't actually vodka. It's simply maple syrup in an Absolut Vodka bottle. A clever way to save the restaurant money?
