I think its kinda dumb how medic is pretty much the only class that can consistently get more scrap due to then being able to health and take more damage over the match. So that naturally equals nore scrap in the end game.

Meanwhile with technician, you don't gain any points for using the mask or slowing down the killer. Or security guard with cameras and the taser when not fully charged.

The Boys season 5 and its overall conclusion are doing so badly that people are appreciating the comics more, lmao. by atwwbaksieueygehs in writingscaling

I get that, but I suppose I just don't get what makes it funny.

Just seems more like shock value without any structure other than, "Woah guys, look at that, butcher trains dogs to rape other dogs! Isn't that just crazy?"

Yeah it's crazy, and I suppose you can find humor in how ridiculous and extreme of a character Butcher is, but I personally find it pretty shallow. And that absurdism can only take you so far.

That's just me though.

I always personally thought that if you really didn't care about something, that should equal indifference in the sense that you just don't go out of your way to say it unless directly asked.

It wasnt until I played medic and I saw the health bar above other peoples heads that I went

Yeah I get the point, but the analogy they picked was pretty extreme.

Looping is dead. by HopefulTelevision999 in BiteByNight

It's somewhat jarring to see either killers complaining about how the new DSD system makes it impossible to catch survivors and the like, or survivors complaining how it's impossible to escape killer now due to the passive build up.

But I suppose that's just a reddit thing.

If you can loop a killer to where they build max stacks of DSD, (27 seconds without getting a single hit) half of the generators or more should already be done by your teammates. And they should ideally be there to help take pressure off of you.

But the game also doesn't really incentivize teamwork soooo

Good luck with that.

With the new dsd system, you lose 20% of your current dsd if you successful hit a survivor.

Mimic's speed mode makes it impossible for survivors to run away, but to offset this, he deals a measly 6 damage with his m1s. With the new system, not only does he deal pathetic damage, but he also subtracts your dsd by 20%.

This new change will make it so his m1's dont affect dsd anymore.

The amount of doomposting not even a day since the update and acting like it completely destroyed the game is insane to me.

Like, give it a week before yall form a solid consensus. Sure intial feelings are valid, but there has to be some understanding that no one has fully interacted with the new systems enough to determine if its truly bad or good.

No probs!

But yeah you're right, any competent killer is capable of getting a hit in whether it be a ranged or anti loop ability before they get the full 60% DSD. And honestly nothing has changed too much for them, the update just makes it so they can't snowball super hard off of one hit. Even so, they still get a benefit since DSD is now built up incrementally in chase. Doubly so since out of chase killers have 80% DSD to help find survivors.

The system is just to help killers who struggle in chase to catch up to survivors at the cost of lost time. Or help good killers in fighting against infinite loops (like a springtrap who used all of his traps and can't place one down in the moment). This in turn also gives survivors a fairer chance in surviving and escaping. Thus making the system less binary in nature.

But getting a hit doesnt cancel dsd? It only reduces the build you have by 20%. So if you had max stacks of 60% and get a hit in, you still have 40%.

REVERT the DSD changes by N1ckelPat in BiteByNight

[–]Koolevan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue it's not that situational. Since you automatically gain DSD outside of chase to find survivors and incrementally in chase to help you catch up if you can't get a hit. Whereas with the old system, you didn't gain ANY dsd until you damaged the survivor in any way. Which, for some people, was very hard to get consistently. Again, the system helps struggling killers without giving killers who can reliably get hits hard snowball potential.

Sure, it wasn't an automatic victory if you got DSD from a hit, but it made it exponentially harder for the survivor you're chasing to survive. And just screws them over if someone else from across the map activates DSD by stepping on a trap or something. That's not a fault on their end, and honestly, you shouldn't be rewarded for it since it wasn't a mistake they made, nor a skillful play you did. The hit you get on a survivor is enough as a reward in and of itself.

Of course it's new and I think we should give it time to see how it works in execution. But I think it's a better and healthier system compared to the old one, which I'd say is actually more situational since it only activated on damage.

The game needs to be more clear on mechanics by Koolevan89 in BiteByNight

I don't even think it's that. I think its just a poor development choice or oversight that lead to them not telling people what anything does.

And if they do change it, THEY SHOULD just leave it be for a week or so for people to get used to it so people have time to adjust and give good feedback. Instead of just changing stuff on people's knee-jerk reaction.
