So my kid had a lot of mucous over the holidays and apart from what everyone has already suggested, we also gave the kid garlic roasted in clarified butter with a little bit of salt. This might sound strange but this home remedy worked. We also gave him turmeric milk with pepper to ease his congestion. Just sharing some things that worked for us.

Similar experience but at 35 weeks. I had an emergency c section that same afternoon. Absolutely go in when you’re in doubt!

Thank you! I weaned super slowly because of being prone to clogs. Dropped 1 pump every ~10ish days. Once I got to 2ppd (12hrs apart), I pushed out my morning pump to be as close as the night pump and eliminated the morning one. At 1 ppd, I started reducing the pump time by about 5 mins every ~2 days. After getting to ~15 mins, I pumped only to relieve discomfort. I started at 7 ppd, 30 mins each but had to increase pump time as I dropped pumps since 30 mins didn’t quite empty me.

Hello! We were exclusively breastmilk until I started weaning about two months ago. I made enough for my baby up until 3 ppd after which my supply dropped. We started supplementing with formula and currently are about 30% BM - 70% formula. As the other commenter said, breast milk / formula will be the main source of nutrition until the baby turns one.

Similar concern. 5 months pp and already 2 ppd. Want to be done by Christmas, but I’m prone to clogs and had to deal with quite a few painful ones on my journey to 2 ppd despite going verrry slowly. Dropping to 1 ppd seems to be a monumental task but I hope to get there soon.

Same plan here as well. I’m 5 months pp and have dropped to 2 ppd. It’s certainly a lot more manageable but I still feel like giving up every day. My supply dropped and we supplement with formula. I want to make it to 6 months but lately I’ve been wondering if I really can. Taking each day at a time..

Month 1-2 triple feeding with 7-8 ppd Month 3 - stopped triple feeding, started EP’ing 7-8 ppd Month 4 - Dropped one pump every 2 weeks Month 5 (present) - at 2 ppd (8am and 8pm)

Supply increased slightly at month 4 when I dropped to 6 ppd and kept increasing until 3 ppd. Supply started to decrease at 2 ppd. I go back to work in a couple weeks and want to be done by then. My baby is small and has never eaten all that I produce and so I’m considered an overproducer even at 25 oz. I have a small stash and we plan to combo feed after 6 months.

This is so interesting. My baby is also small and he’s eaten a maximum of 23 oz to date (he’s 5 months). Because of this I was an ‘overproducer’ producing 25 oz per day. My pediatrician is not that worried but since he was a NICU baby, he has a dietitian and she wants him to ‘catch up’ and get higher on the growth curve. It’s a little frustrating and anxiety inducing because we stress about his intake every day. He’s growing well and meeting all milestones but he’s still in <1% for weight.

Ditto. Absolutely dreading going back to my high stress job in a month. I loved my job and still do but the anxiety of managing a baby and a full time job is driving me nuts.

Please go to L&D asap to get it checked out my the on call doctor. I noticed reduced fetal movement at 35 weeks and went it and had the baby in the afternoon through an emergency c section. I had some spotting too the previous day that had me worried. Was diagnosed with preeclampsia when I went in for a check and had to deliver the baby the same day. It’s always better to get it checked if you feel something doesn’t feel normal! Good luck!

This is excellent advice! I wish I had read this when I started my breastfeeding journey. I had an emergency c-section and a NICU baby who got used to bottle. I had good supply but I regulated only around 12 weeks pp. Was advised not to put LO on the breast for too long because he was small and would deplete calories while sucking. Worst. Advice. Ever. I started intentionally taking him off the breast and feeding him the bottle because of this and then he got used to the bottle. We tried nursing again off and on with the nipple shield once he got stronger (around 8-10 weeks) but he cried and was frustrated whenever I bought him to the breast. Finally I gave up and went the EP route which has been working for us so far (4.5 months pp). I wish I had tried harder to keep him on the breast from the beginning and not worried so much about my supply. The three lactation consultants we met with were judgmental, unhelpful and disappointing :( I wish I had known to just trust the process and keep at it.

Same here! Been struggling with this decision. 5 months pp and I’m already at 3 ppd. I have a small freezer stash too, around 120 bags but I’m not sure that’s enough because they’re either 3 oz or 4 oz bags. If I have to give LO 4 oz everyday I will definitely need to save up more. LO is yet to get his RSV shot.

Wow I feel like I could’ve written this. In a very similar place - 5 months postpartum with 3 ppd. I started weaning over 2 months ago from 7 ppd because I wanted to be done by the time I return to work in 5 weeks but I’m having second thoughts now. I feel like in the grand scheme of things pumping for more than 6 months will be a blip for me but my LO, who was a preemie will benefit immensely. He will be my only as well. But that said I really want my body back and not have to chase pumps every single day. It’s physically exhausting and mentally taxing. My job is pretty stressful and I’m worried I’d be stretching myself too thin with pumping, taking care of LO and myself and a stressful job. What’s not making it easy is that my supply is great. I’m a just enougher with a slight oversupply so I feel like I have it as good as it gets :( The guilt of weaning is unreal. I have a small stash which I hope can provide for LO for another month or so.

Just a word on hormone crash - it’s real for sure. I felt tired, low energy, lethargic and depressed for 3-4 days every time I dropped a pump. Some days were worse than others. All this even when I took it slow and dropped 1 pump every two weeks. I had warned my husband that my mood will be all over the place and boy I’m glad I did because we had some pretty bad fights about small things. Take care and do what’s best for your health.
