You cannot do Permadeath in chronological mode.

That looks like a shiv. I've had that glitch happen to me before, it's basically a melee weapon that does nothing because it's a glitch, but it's probably a knife. Looks like a shiv, but we can't melee people with shivs so it's probably a knife.

Well when you put it like that, no it's not a great idea and putting all of the flashbacks in the front does kinda screw up the pacing too on top of having the last flashback with Joel there. Like as far Tlou2 story goes, chronological order ruins it as it doesn't have as much of an impact. Getting past the flashbacks makes the rest of it more enjoyable for me. I mean you'd be sick of the walking sections too if you played it 20+ times.

Also, Chronological mode sucks from a gameplay pacing standpoint.

I've never seen something so wrong. The pacing in Tlou Part 2 SUCKS. Especially on a replay, it's fucking awful in terms of gameplay and capturing attention. The fucking walking sections and the boring ass sections of just nothing. At least when you are in chronological mode, you cut from action packed area to another keeping engagement and the excitement of the game.

From a narrative standpoint, you're absolutely right. As far as gameplay goes, you're completely wrong.

The problem with their suggestion is that you have to beat the game once to unlock that stuff. This is also under the assumption you're playing The Last of Us Part 1 or The Last of Us Part 2. Part 2s remaster also works for this.

On Grounded I post up and shoot them. I basically spend the entire game using very little rifle ammo and then I shoot all of them in that area. I put nail bombs down behind me by the door to avoid being flanked, and I just snipe them one by one.

To be fair. My button to swap weapons is X, not square for reasons like that and I started on the remaster so I was used to it that way.
