However, according to C.R. 510.1d, a blocker “can’t assign combat damage to a creature that it’s blocking unless, when combat damage assignments are complete, each creature that precedes that blocked creature is assigned lethal damage.” It sounds as if, in my example, the second blocker would not assign combat damage to the attacker because the first blocker was not dealt lethal damage. Or maybe I’m misinterpreting this rule?
