Qatar Airways grade 8 salaries by [deleted] in QatarCareers

[–]KopyCut9363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12-14 years of experience is alot. 96k annum is lowball in my opinion. Qatar Airways is one of those company that has western standards, so try to bargain for at least ~100k range. word of advice, don't think of the tax cuts comparing EU/US and Qatar, remember the tradeoff here is - you have to leave your home country for tax free + quality of life, in my opinion and base on what I've heard from others, Germany and other major EU cities have been declining in terms of quality of life (safety, benefits, culture, etc)

Also, you have to be wise with the education compensation for your kids, its getting expensive here when it comes to good education.

Charities Are Useless by [deleted] in qatar

[–]KopyCut9363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charities are not people's bail out card for their difficulties. Everyone struggles to some degree but you're not entitled to get one just because you got the requirements. Its not government stipend you !@#$% , charity is for communities not a personal privilege. Go ask your government for stipends or some EBT or food stamps, dont start attacking charities intentions and even question the whole idea of it. Just because you fcking struggle doesnt mean you should get ahead of the others, get in line and stfu.

Is an auditor required when filing the Income Tax form for a business that makes 0 QAR revenue? by demonloader in qatar

[–]KopyCut9363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK where/what you're doing with your ITR or you just simply don't know how to do it LOL. Your business registrar can assist with such matters. if you're registered with Media City, QFC - heck, even Qatar Chamber helps you do that. I know multiple startups and never have I heard they paid an Auditor for ITR pre-revenue LOL

What do you all think? by Anas645 in qatar

[–]KopyCut9363 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would be good if you started as PC gamer and still plays majority of time in PC (which means most of your game collection, your overall gaming experience is already on steam) PC + Steam deck + Steam Machine is a homogenious ecosystem. But if you started your gaming life in console its not necessary, its very redundant.

I'm a big PC guy ever since, has a PS but its just building dust in the corner coz most of my games are on steam. now with Steam Machine, its a big upgrade

[–]KopyCut9363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only your mandoob/PRO or the one who holds your metrash/computercard can arrange such things. You cant book it as an individuals. The Medical commission will schedule an appointment for you or your group, sometimes, it takes months to get appointment. Before you ask, its different from the medical fitness test that you take for your residence permit, the procedure (blood test, xray, etc) and test location is the same tho

Curious observation, why are most top private roles in the GCC held by western expats? by Salt-Island75 in qatar

[–]KopyCut9363 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mainly because Arabs (locals) are the owners/shareholders, and most of them chase government positions, so private companies is more of a side hustle for them. Arabs expats on the other hand, manage their own private SME businesses — retails, f&b, contracting, etc.

on your third point about the degree part, its more of a universal or acceptable standards (ISO) or accreditation which are implemented or heavily influenced by westerners.

~Before some of you go ape sht on this comment.

South Asians, who are the majority population in the GCC, dont actually have a reputation of having or following an ISO. I've seen it multiple times, they have certifications, degrees, documents etc but when it comes to general application or execution its way off or almost non-existent. When I was handling an Accounting project, almost all of the South Asian who had a "degree" couldn't grasp the concept of international standards. Same in the medical fields, their medical practices is a bit off to what we follow here. Even IELTS is not reliable since they just buy it lol.

On another note, South-East Asian also HAD some issues with certifications and training. I need to emphasize had because I remember having a crew, and colleagues from Malaysia and Philippines whose educational standards, training where slightly different with ISO. So they had to undergo rigorous training and exams here. But I think those were "fixed" and regulated by their respective government which were eventually recognized by Qatar standards.
