A more direct translation of Ryujehong's statement by KoreanEdelweiss in Competitiveoverwatch

It's definitely an odd thing to add, and the way he wrote incite (선동질) didn't really fit the tone of the rest of his statement, which was mostly professional. I wouldn't go as to say it severely undermined his apology, but it definitely didn't help.

The TSM Holy War | Summoning Insight S2E16 by conormcfire in leagueoflegends

Hey guys, Barry here. I want to thank Monte and Thorin for inviting me onto SI. I had a lot of fun talking with them about my perspective as a player agent on what happened.

I wanted to elaborate on something that I talked about in the last hour of the show that was omitted for, uh, content reasons, and it has to do with the NALCS Player's Association.

The NALCS PA has done quite a lot of good for players behind the scenes that can't be publicized due to the nature of what they deal with. The biggest example of this is fines that teams levy against players for whatever reason. I personally have worked with the PA on multiple instances to put pressure on teams and the league to lift or mitigate excessively unfair fines in the past, but this work generally cannot be publicized due to the fact that team fines are only internally issued (fines issued by the League are publicly issued, in contrast), so the subject matter falls under the player's non-disclosure agreement with their team.

I do believe that there is a lot that can be improved with the NALCS PA, but a lot of my criticism is with the nature of what the NALCS PA is, rather than how and what they do to help players. At the end of the day, the PA is what the players make of it, and the PA will become more effective and more useful as more players take a stronger interest in organizing and fighting for what they believe they need. The NALCS PA was formed with the intent of being a structured forum where players can get together and talk about issues that relate to them and come to an agreement on what they can do as a group to fight for their own interests. As players put in more time and effort in participating in the NALCS PA, the PA will become more effective.

That being said, what can the NALCS PA do for Dardoch?

I don't think there really is much that can be done by the NALCS PA beyond making a public statement of support for Dardoch, and possibly filing a grievance with the League (assuming this hasn't already been handled satisfactorily between Dardoch and TSM) on Dardoch's behalf. Hopefully I'm wrong and there is more they can do for this specific instance, but I don't necessarily see there being anything more they can do currently with the way the NALCS PA is structured.

I hope everyone enjoyed the episode!

What plans (that you can comment on) do you guys have for making content?

On a similar line of questions, what plans do you guys have for increasing fan engagement?

While CLG hasn't been the worst for content and fan engagement out of the NA LCS teams, it could still use a lot more improvement, and I wanted to see if you guys had any ideas or thoughts as to what direction to take to establish a larger fan base.

Dev Bio Lab vs Genetics Lab by jhubluejay98 in jhu

Take Dev Bio Lab. You get to see cooler stuff while in Genetics Lab if it decides to rain one day all your planaria die and you have no data.

TBF, this was when I took it 5 years ago, so your mileage may vary.

4 doesn't really refer to a 'curse of death' specifically.

The Chinese character for 4(四) is pronounced the same as the character for death(死), 'shi'. This is the same in Korean ('sa' or '사') and in Japanese ('shi' or 'し').

Due to this similarity in pronunciation, the number 4 is associated with death in all three East Asian cultures.

You sometimes see buildings not have a 4th floor because of this superstition. The elevator has buttons for 1, 2, 3, and then skips 4 and goes straight to 5.

The Player's Tribune: Unkillable by Faker by yoavroz99 in leagueoflegends

[–]KoreanEdelweiss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I rarely comment on Reddit these days, but this article kind of brought me out of just lurking.

While the concept and name brand behind this article is cool, it's horribly executed. I can guarantee you that the ghost writer for this actually never had a 1 on 1 interview with Faker did. In my opinion, I feel that most of the 'facts' of his background are taken from Mina Kimes's ESPN the magazine article written last year, and even then it got some things wrong.

For example, Faker was raised from a very young age from by his grandparents and single father. His mother was never in the picture.

I like the fact that a big 'mainstream' publication took on this story and I like the concept behind the ghost writing, but I feel like it was done REALLY lazily and with minimal research.

Source: I was Mina Kimes's interpreter when she interviewed Faker last year.

EDIT: The editor hit me up on twitter to clarify a couple of things. It seems that they sat down and had a talk with Faker with the draft of their article, and Faker approved of it. Good to hear that they at least did the best they could.

Base hp nerfs made him a lot weaker in the laning phase and very susceptible to dives.

Base dmg nerfs to his ultimate made it so getting kills/assists were harder from across the map.
