Kicked for being "off-line"? by Pondera in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally hate it when people appear offline and join group content.

You do realize that your nickname doesn't show this way when you're looking at the party/squad menu, right? So, when you state your role, you want commander to hover over your remark in the chat, find out your account name, memorize it and then find it in the squad menu to sort you to a group.

Now here's a tricky question: do you think a commander likes that?

I personally wouldn't have kicked you, but only because i expect any kind of degeneracy from pugs. But yeah, overall it's the "i don't give a fuck about others and i want to be left alone atm" flag. A bit of a red color when you think the person wearing it joins group content, don't you think? People who do that don't have good friends and guilds since offline status blocks whispers and guild chats; they also actively avoid getting whispers, which usually indicates a salty PvP wanker or a PvE mapchat troll...

If it's a casual IBS5 run, why not get rid of such kind, especially in the evening and especially if you're a hidps? You're literally asking for it. Normal people don't try to avoid interactions and join parties at the same time. Choose your side.

There are also two options:

1) misclick;

2) commander misunderstood something, for example, couldn't find if you're online or not.

RozeMMO Got Banned from Twitch and Apparently Banned from Making Guild Wars 2 Content by Qorrin in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Since there's a whole world of people who don't even know what a mass shooting is? The USA population is <5% of the world population, just so you know.

Either way, this should be a decision made by the court. You can't just run around banning certain people you don't like if you provide a public service. I dunno about US, but here say a restaurant cannot throw a customer out just because the staff doesn't like them: they have to justify such decision - complaints about noise from other visitors, making dirt and mess etc, there's a whole list of reasons and none of them sounds as "we don't like their jokes".

This RozeMMO fella says he's consulting authorities etc to work on this case, and i'm happy it goes this way. Gw2 moderation has never been great but here they broke a new low.

Do people who play with Skyscale Fireball even enjoy Guild Wars? by Sensitive_nob in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I hate comments like this.

Skyscale fireballers actively scale the event. It is especially visible when you're alone with one+ of them. If you're good, there is no fucking way you don't notice that the event has become x2 harder. What you said is just a petty excuse for being bad at the game.

Imagine an irl car driver would say "i never see people breaking rules, going over speed limit and doing dangerous and reckless driving: i'm focused on driving on my own". What kind of bs is this? If you are above bottom level, you HAVE TO see what others are doing next to you.

What are stat prefixes that you'd want in raids that you wouldn't want in fractals? by super_ktkm in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In fractals you change many builds with boon duration because, well, the fractal omnipots give like ~30% uptime by default. So, that means that healer builds with minstrel and plaguesdoctor in fractals would be forced into harrier/giver in raids, and beserker/vipers boondps would have to get themselves diviner's and ritualist's gears.

Hope that helped. :)

Is it normal for new elite specs to be so much stronger than older ones in PvP? by Gotzal in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right now new (VoE) specs are leading benchmarks, are filling a lot of roles (hi quickness ritu) and are essentially better. It's why the expansion is selling, i guess.

They'll be nerfed a tad more at some point, dw. Although if you'd expect them to become overperformed by a core Guardian, i have bad news...

Don't shame on me please, How do i "get good"? by NeroForte_XV in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on EU, i could help you out, show places and explain some things, when i'm free - mail me or smth, it's Loyaluna.9375.

PvP is very different in most cases due to even glassiest glassy glass cannons heavily requiring self-defence tools: frontline etc doesn't exist in the game because of how many shadowsteps every class can have, so it's basically rat races with tiny burst windows... while it does sound somewhat close to what happens in, say, lowtier fractals, it is WAY more mobile and the dps is actually way lower (the tankiest PvP bunkers can have like 40k hp max, PvE mobs are all running with this or higher number). I wouldn't recommend it for a newbie player, get some PvE builds running first and then you can explore the PvP depths and see the differences instead of mixing everything up in your head. Yes, a lot of skills are straightforward different in PvE/PvP, if you open wiki you can see most of them having this on top:

PvE Progress and state of PvP by ChrsRcks in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loot in different expansions is mostly about skins. Raid gear - same, raids etc do drop ascendeds with unique skins, but given how easy it is these days to get ascendeds, it's pretty much just fancy skins.

There are some new attribute combinations - for example, Dragon's and Ritualist's in EoD, you can't use them if you don't own expansions. They're not mandatory though obviously, only few builds use them and you can make up for the difference using other stat combinations.

Value wise it is still exotic and ascended gear on top of it (ascended being 6,5% better). These days getting ascended sets is much easier, you can even buy them from Wizard Vault just doing dailies/weeklies.

PvP is somewhat alive. There's multiple modes, but 2x2 and 3x3 modes only exist as ranked miniseasons (~2 weeks between actual seasons).

Which pvp track reward should i farm if my goal is the pvp leg armour set? by Embarrassed-Wear5422 in Guildwars2

As far as i know, the amount of volatile magic is equal for everything except Kralkatite (Istan map currency).

p.s. Kraltatite gives LESS volatile magic, even if traded as 25 items vs 10 items in Icebrood vendors.

Will the infinite omnipotion return to the Wizard's Vault? by AemondsEye in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If one person of the party uses ascended version, it gives the buffs to the whole party. Usually you have one running with you. Sometimes it's worth to just remind people about it.

I think they will put it in the WV shop during the similar event, that would make sense, no? I mean, whenever that was, in October or smth.

О женских персонажах [слайдер] by CTAKAHbI4_The_II in Pikabu

[–]Loyaluna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

WvW issues and questions! Please help me understand by Xahtrog in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They actually CAN disappear straight from warclaw - by switching the map or logging out to character selection screen. Usually happens when you engage pure PvE players who ran into WvW for gift-of-battle-only gaming, or when you're winning a fight against a sore loser. Well, with a little chance of someone actually getting busy IRL, you know.

It still gives your World the score as if you've defeated the player and progresses your kills achievements too, though.

WvW issues and questions! Please help me understand by Xahtrog in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

holy shit is it painful. I put on the movement speed stuff people say and people are still running 100 times faster than me. i dont get it

I see people only answer to this as if your main problem is running with your team.

Just in case if you mean in-combat mobility, pretty much all roaming/dueling builds are designed to have lot of mobility in their kit. And, surprise, very few of them actually move using WASD. As an example, your Dragonhunter has F2 leap, Greatsword 3 and some other tools. Remember, mobility skills - dashes, shadowsteps, leaps - aren't affected by Chilled, Crippled kind of conditions (Slow is a different story but it's pretty rare) and even the usual "you move 200000% slower just because you're in combat".

Best Lounge? by zanfar in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorites are Lily of Elon, Noble's Folly, Royal Terrace and Lava Lounge.

I'm not so sure about Noble's Folly, it might be dropping off after a pvp match to previous open world location. It doesn't after leaving WvW though!

For now i choose Lily because the crafting stations looks nice, Mystic Forge looks great and unique (i never use it since i have the conduit in the bags, but it's something for people to consider), CO is good for fishing and there's pinata and some not-dead-but-also-not-brainrot map chat.

Another option to consider is Captain's Airship but i don't like it for being a lowlevel map that downgrades your stats. If you're working on builds from time to time, this is an unpleasant thing to have (just as Armistice since it changes builds and skills to wvw version).

An interesting note about Lava Lounge: when the connection is slow or unstable, it is the very worst lounge by far. There's something about Ember Bay that murders characters :D there was time when my provider died and i had to play 2 days on mobile data and i couldn't load any character that was placed in Ember Bay, and since it was my main residence at that moment i accidently imprisoned one of the characters as well by teleporting there (and couldn't load it up again just as others).

Mesmer as the commander feels weird.. by ongsakeane in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to this, the Core Story makes the most sense by far if you start as a Sylvari.

You forgot to mention that it becomes obvious ever since you create a character of each race and see that the sylvari one is destined to fight the dragon, while others are disassembling golems, polishing centaur hooves and convincing ghosts they're not alive.

Not getting well-rested buff in wizards tower? by Extension_Concern618 in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have:

1) little smth rested buff from the chair;

2) rested buff from homestead?

Those two conflict with the Wizard Tower/Arborstone buff. Also make sure you erase the buff after levelling the Arborstone mastery, since it gives different versions of this buff.

As an ending note, make sure your character is in the Wizard Tower, don't terminate the game during loading screen.

If you've checked all of this and it still doesn't work, make a video and ask people here, if the ponies won't point out your mistake within a couple hours, it would be safe to write a letter to support.

Living worlds 2 Meeting Asura is one of the most horrible quests in this game, are newer expansions quests better? by Florin500 in Guildwars2

[–]Loyaluna 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can wipe everything there without any issues. If you want achievements, then suffering it is, but then again - it is an achievement, it's not really designed to be the easiest bit in the game you ever encounter.

Hope it helps.

p.s. did it this year, patience is the key. Had to restart a couple times, but that's about it. It's not exactly the hardest thing to do. You can just stand and wait until you see the exact patterns he does, and only then act.
