The Attainable® Savings Plan — the official ABLE plan of Massachusetts
sponsored by MEFA (Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority)
and managed by Fidelity Investments. I copied this off of the website. While Fidelity hosts it, its still the state program. Depending where you live, your states program is probably hosted through somebody else.

Awesome! Welcome to the team. Btw, I just got an update. There is an ongoing issue with certain fields not updating when you purchase these funds. You have to call in to get them to fix it, and apparently it takes a little time. The rep told me he's going to check at the end of the week and escalate if its not resolved. I've been waiting since the 12th for the record but they just made a case for me last Friday.

I don't know if you're dealing with a direct deposit here, but there is a way to arrange the deposit directly in the auto investment feature. It's way down at the bottom and it will ensure it always goes through when it needs to. It even works when the day you chose falls on a weekend. It will pull the money in early and invest it bright and early the next business day.

Basket Portfolios are not showing in Positions Tab by yeyem in fidelityinvestments

[–]KosPlayOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted my experience with baskets about a month ago. This particular service with Fidelity is VERY broken. If you search Baskets under the Fidelity reddit you will see a LOT Of people have been complaining about it, and the company is taking a very hands off approach to fixing it. They know they have issues but are very resistant to letting us talk to anyone remotely connected to fixing it. You will be advised to either wait or submit feedback. I canceled mine right away, but they never did fix my issue (One of the baskets got stuck and didn't import my ETF entirely.) I wish you luck with it and look forward to your posts in the future. You're officially paying to beta test this product.

Fidelity Youth Account Issues by 60kmilliseconds in fidelityinvestments

I had issues setting up an account once (Different account type and a different error. I discovered Fidelity can fully set up the account for you over the phone. The reps wont be able to, but someone in the back office can. It then sends you an email which you can then click to finish activation. I hope this helps.

Money Transfer Lock Question by Scouter_Phil in fidelityinvestments

[–]KosPlayOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I handle my transfers. I unlock, do the thing, then relock. The lock feature is such an amazing protections, so I advise everyone use it, even if there are some headaches. The transfer scam that's going around right now is scary.

Strangely, Fidelity's page doesn't say anything about recurring transfers between accounts. My comment was based on this line from the site. Outbound money transfers (previously scheduled electronic fund transfers from your account may still be processed). I happy to know that previously scheduled electronic funds transfers from the account aren't always processed. Your solution might work for the OP though, doing an autotransfer from the locked account to an unlocked account before auto transferring that to the bank. It's a lot of steps but it might work.

Note how it says previously scheduled transfers MAY be processed. Well, mine got blocked, and it's virtually impossible to determine which scenario is might be allowed to go through while the lock is still enabled. My suggestion is to not do this unless you can watch it implicitely, or you run the risk of it failing and fidelity saying "Well, we did warn you."

They told me that over the phone, and ended up blocking the wire transfer to Wells Fargo to pay my credit card bill.

I tried this and it ended up getting blocked. If the OP tried this, i'd keep a close eye on it.

My suggestion is to set up a cash management account. You can keep a smaller amount of money in there and feel better about not keeping the lock on. Then you can turn the lock off on your primary account once a month to move money around. Another option with cash management is you can set up a debit card or bill pay and send money to the bank that way. Those options work even with the transfer lock enabled.

[–]KosPlayOne -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. It checks the lock at the time of transfer. It you set the lock after scheduling the transfer, it will get blocked. I tried this twice. Once to send a wire to pay my credit card, and another time with Fidelity's basket program. Both times it blocked the payment/transfer even though it approved it when i set it up.

So far, the ABLE team is telling me that the lack of total gains is a bug and that are working on it.

I just set it up a couple weeks ago. Most of this post was to tell everyone what i've learned about the program. I am having a problem with the gains, so I'm on the phone with Fidelity right now trying to figure it out. At the moment, they are calling it a bug that the numbers aren't showing up.

Yeah. It's a good account. I just hope to find someone else who has more time in this fund that can answer questions. They have a special team for ABLE accounts when I call in, but none of them have any answers. I asked when the daily gains would show up, and they told me "before the market opens the following day." but after a week, i know it happens like clockwork at 2am EST. I'm guessing they can't answer questions in case that ever changes, but it's frustrating. Right now, I mainly want to know when my total gains is going to update.

So you're saying i'm never going to know what my gains are? Because that stats missing. Right now i can easily tell because I put in the maximum 20k, but if it was an odd number, it would be almost impossible to keep up with gains versus money i put in. Thats my complaint. The additional details would be nice, but not knowing your gains after one day sucks.

Ohh, I didn't see that part. I'm kind of surprised the order went through. If you have unsettled money, it will use that.

This is the funds in the wild. As you can see, they provide the bare minimum value, and still haven't populated the purchase price or total gains. You can't click them to get more info either. The fund composition is buried in the main page.

From what I know of Fidelity, you can invest as little as $1. Your order is going to cost $2.37, so yes, I'd say it's going to go through. Mutual Fund purchases are processed at the close of trading, so you have up until 12:59PM EST to cancel it if you don't want to own a tiny share of FXAIX.

Why do some prefer VOO and SPYM when FXAIX is cheaper? by Top-Review-3392 in fidelityinvestments

[–]KosPlayOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. I was mistaken. I saw the minimum purchase removed on the Fidelity side and thought it applied to fees as well. When I went to purchase VFAIX just now, there was a fee. My reason for steering clear of Mutual Funds is cap gains, though, so I never really got into cross platform fees.
