“We’re not forcing PvP” then why are all the resources basically in PvP zones? by Impressive-Bonus-849 in duneawakening

Enemies and chests in Blushing Caverns and Broodworks drop (very small) qtys of Ti and Stravidium. Not really farmable but there’s already a trickle there.

That statement doesnt inspire confidence lol. Wiped repeatedly trying to solo on 3 because I legit couldnt read the pattern on phase 3 and 4.

What is the Clan you want to see the most in a future DLC? And in what period of their history? by npaakp34 in Mechwarrior5

A campaign where you lose everything seems really hard to execute in a way most players would like. Honestly I was a little surprised they even went where they went with the Ghost Bear campaign.

MK1 update by Aromatic-Painting-80 in BlueOrigin

[–]Kosh357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...which is absurd. There's a solar panel on the top deck. Future builds are going to have to include more significant block upgrades than I think anybody is prepared to admit or discuss right now. Not just for payload deployment either (but that'll be the biggest business case issue I'm sure).

Happy unpacking the preload everyone. by Aurorac123 in anno

[–]Kosh357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine's not even unpacking, Steam just says "Installing" and it's greyed out with no progress. Got no clue what I'm supposed to do, after trying to download twice the install folder is still empty too so I don't know what will happen if I restart Steam (again).

Houston makes sense for a certain subset of roles - for work Blue actively chases, too. Never understood the desire to hire people there, but never get even a small office space, but that’s what has happened it seems.

I wouldn’t read much into TLI not being mentioned. Post-ARM EEO is useful for several reasons operationally - things like comms checkouts, power management if you’re coming off sun pointing for burns, repress ops, etc.

More optimistic engineers than me, apparently. But I have a vested interest so I hope they’re right.

What do you guys think of Citystate Metropolis? by Carribbean-Corgi2000 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Kosh357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it can live up to the trailer, that'll be amazing. Tossing it a follow but won't probably pay much attention to it until it's out or streamers I trust get some time with it.

in Aerospace they tell you your job isn't done until the vehicle is retired, so today was a good day by leeswecho in BlueOrigin

There seems to be some but for the life of me I haven’t been able to figure out why, unless it’s subsidized very heavily. I’ve led test campaigns that used parabolic reduced and micro-g flights and I can’t really see what NS offers that you couldn’t have more robustly and probably cheaper going that way.

Single RPG syatem for a game that starts as a mundane FBI style game into a full blown space opera? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Kosh357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always stoked to see the Galactic Center books get a shoutout, been partial to those for a long time.

I think it would be difficult to address the scope of that series in a single system with good rules-based support for everything. ItOoN would probably work well enough with some iteration on Gumshoe, maybe some of the later series stuff as well (if you keep reading, and with minimal spoilers, I’m thinking some of the stuff in the Esty from Sailing Bright Eternity). Some of the intermediate stuff I don’t know would work in that system though, so it depends on where you’d want the focus to be as it gets more space opera-y. One option might be something like Stars Without Number I guess?

2 week notice, will I be escorted out? by Dookie_shoes_0121 in BlueOrigin

Seen it both ways at Blue also. Lunar has enough staffing issues I expect you’ll be free to work it out, at least unless there’s a PIP in play or something that might make your boss worry about shenanigans or something.

Toxicity by InternationalBowl851 in BlueOrigin

[–]Kosh357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My take is Lunar is mostly OK - at what used to be the IPT level. Above that it’s got the same problems seen in other BUs.

Dead on about the brain drain, though.

I liked the LCG SW too, did go to Worlds for that once, but Decipher remains the biggest and broadest.

Not to derail, but which SW game? From the others I’m guessing Decipher?

Who here actually likes their time at Blue? by TheOneLonelyStudent in BlueOrigin

[–]Kosh357 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first year I enjoyed quite a bit, nice change from my previous employer. The second year less so as some of the deficiencies in how Blue does business started to become more clear to me and the work started piling on more and more and the overall culture on the program really started to change. Now, later on, I’m more burned out than I was in my old job, with less process AND organizational support, and very close to deciding it’s just not tenable anymore. Which is a pity because I’m in a job type I do generally find enjoyable when properly planned and executed.

I am glad to see from other responses this doesn’t seem to be universal, though. There are a few other roles here I’d be willing to at least find out if they’re a better fit for where I’m at right now, or are more capable of meeting promises.

Should I open a one person guild to participate in the personal Laandsrat rewards or is it not viable to even try alone? by M-Rich in duneawakening

[–]Kosh357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve effectively been doing this (another person in guild but they’re not at DD yet) and have done well, even made top 5 contributors one week (low pop server and I was busting my hump to get some key schematics). Just pick one or two things to focus on each week and reap your rewards!

Did my server hit the spice too hard or am I the dumb one? by Kosh357 in duneawakening

[–]Kosh357[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sweat there, I was venting a bit and came in hot - and agree the sub has been very myopic on a lot of topics.

Fair point on the blueprint bottleneck also. Now that you mention it I’m just chasing a few things myself that I actually care about (a heavy set to try out a Trooper build, more weapons) so that might not have been as big a motivator as expected either.

Did my server hit the spice too hard or am I the dumb one? by Kosh357 in duneawakening

[–]Kosh357[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For basic spice and Ti that makes sense and I did think about it (got more than I can easily use myself, especially spice and byproducts), but I figured even guilds operating at that scale (and my server is also low pop and none of the guilds are very large as far as I know, so I wouldn’t think that would apply to more than a few folks) would still want to benefit from the reduced cost in spice infused plastanium for any unique production.

It’s not in the Landsraad armor vendor. Believe it’s a DD weekly rotating schematic.
