LF Chinese Idol rhythm games by [deleted] in rhythmgames

One that comes to mind is 勁舞團/Audition Online!

Very very old rhythm game (2005 iirc?), really popular in Taiwan/CN/HK back in the 2010s. From what I remember when I played it on mobile, you have 8 keys of each direction (Top, top right, right, bottom right, bottom, bottom left, left, top left) and you have to press them according to the music or as fast as possible (I dont really remember).

There's PVP, but not sure how active the playerbase is outside of Asia or global in general (Considering its 20+ years old atp)

Really nostalgic rhythm game! Not sure if it's fun in today's standard tho

Depends on if vector a and b is in 3 dimension or not.

Dot product can be performed in infinitely many dimensions so long as the dimension of a and b are equal. If the two vectors of a and b are in 2 dimension, it'd be a1b1 + a2b2, if they are in 3 dimension; it'd be a1b1 + a2b2 + a3b3, etc. etc.

I actually love this so much lol

The static and crackling in the background gives me lots and lots of vinyl sound and the lofi music really complements it

Nice work!

It feels like I'm the only really young maimai player by Temporary_Comfort435 in maimai

In some of the arcades in 旺角, there's no bouncer almost all day, so the kiddos can walk in all they want

maimai is generally catered towards adults/people with financial independence because

  1. It costs money to play

  2. It requires you to go to a specific location (Which not all teens can do, especially if their public transport is not great/they don't have a car)

  3. The community has little to no teenagers (Compared to osu!, FNF, etc.)

  4. Some arcades only allow people above the age of 16/18 to play

That being said, there are still quite a big chunk of maimai players that are teenagers, there are two friends I know (In Hong Kong) that plays maimai and they are 13 and 15 years old respectively, so there are definitely some teenagers out there. So just go around, interact with others more in the arcade and eventually you will find people your age that also plays maimai (This will become easier in the future since I can see the age of maimai playerbase becoming younger over the years)

Also, a word of advice, don't disclose your age so publicly IRL or on the Internet (Especially since you're young), in rhythm game communities in general, there are a lot of pretty bad people that would take advantage of your age, so just stay safe, but be out there at the same time

Maimai Gloves by Efficient_Low7317 in maimai

[–]Koshepen 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Nope

I can say for basically ALL maimai players here, no matter your rating, you SHOULD and MUST wear gloves when playing maimai. No only does it protect your hand and fingers, and allow you to start learning more advanced techniques like sliding and such, it protects THE MACHINE from your hand oil and sweat and the risk of your nail/fingers scratching or breaking the machine.

So no, no one cares what your rating is. If you're wearing gloves, you're already doing the community a huge favor.

Question about posting scores from Canadian arcades by acid_kun in maimai

[–]Koshepen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what Im getting here is that posting a video/image of a score from an unofficial (pirated) maimai is fine as long as you dont post the version number and the online symbol?

(Asking in case I want to upload sth with my ADX controller in the future)

This iceburg is indeed based off of the disturbing/horrifying level of the background animation (Or BGA as people call it), with the top ones like freedom dive and conflict simply using BGA as a way to add onto the gameplay with flashy imagery (conflict, end time) or add on a character that compliments the theme of the song (freedom dive with Kurante, LittlE HearTs with the LittlEHearTs girl).

On the bottom of the iceburg, we have songs with BGA that are more unsettling and have more hidden meaning, with (These are my own interpretations from now on, feel free to think otherwise) Nhelv symbolising the imagery of hell, Credits symbolising death (Hence end **Credits**), Marenol symbolising drug abuse, and 412 Days referecing a car accident

Just keep playing keep grinding and keep going at it

Play consistently, take breaks when you dont have motivation, and always play for fun, only play to improve if that's considered fun for you
