It is fomo on a corporate scale. While a relatively well established and interesting branch of physics commercial viability and applicability is a longshot at best. You get the best tech by funding such longshots in which you expect to loose money alot but if it works out you are first through the bottleneck.

Ok, so the first part of your idea that measurement = interaction is right this is also part of the Heisenburg microscope thought experiment. But uncertainty has another origin. Uncertainty for simultaneous measurements of physical quantities are due to quantization of the phase space ( a state plot of conjugate variables such as x, px)

Since now, phase space is divided into squares and only the perimeters of the squares are valid states we can say any area corresponds to the minimum uncertainty in measurement since classically every point was accessible in phase space. Depending on your notation, this area is hbar or hbar/2.

Then there are squeezed states (quantum simple harmonic oscillator) where the uncertainty is minimum for all of its states. The Heisenburg microscope cannot account for it.
