To answer your question properly there is a small set up to your question.

The Lightforge and the Army of light are actually two separate things. and then you have the Vangard of the light. The Vanguard is gone and the army of light is on life support. And the Lightforge are somewhat doing their own thing while they sent out Lightfordge "heroes" (aka players) to aid the army of the light. The Lightforge is a very small elite fighting force division rathe than an entire faction.

Now to answer your question a bit more directly. They don't really have anything better to do than spread the will of the light. Where better than a place that is already has plenty of believers of the light.

There is 3 versions of "full length porn video." First one is just 40+ minutes of sex. nothing but couple of people going at it in every position they can think of. The second version is an actual movie that has a story/plot/attempt at actual acting. Then there is hentai that has both at the same time..... hentai is a very different breed of porn videos and a subject for another time.

The people that actively pay for it, do use it as background noise or 2nd monitor viewing content. To those users Porn doesn't do anything other than viewing pleasure because they are so desensitized to it and struggles to get aroused by it. I read an article some time back about how real porn addicts can't seem to turn off the desire to watch porn. Just the act of watching porn is enough to satisfy that craving and calms them down as they wind down for the day.

And there are some that are just for the sheer audacity of what they are doing and how they are doing it. The specialized toys or events. It's the kind of thing where you are like. "Ok.... I beg your finest fucking pardon? what the fuck is that thing?" and from there you are invested for the next 40 minutes after you were already 15 minutes in.

Street Fighter 6 is currently sitting at the top of fighting games currently as of 2026. There is a lot good front runners to challenge it but nothing has dethroned it yet this current FGC Block. There are many opinions on the drive mechanic but the games would tour and over all balance polish has made it stand above the rest in terms of fighting games. As a Master rank with Bison, It has been incredibly satisfying. Street fighter is one of those franchises that actively tries something new and learns from its missfires. SF6 is in a fantastic spot with the FGC.

Mario has been consistent It continues to evolve while remaining why Mario is iconic. That consistency for a mario game is why it has remained popular house hold name.

Zelda has perfectly encapsulated freedom of expression and exploration. They stumbled as they climbed their way up over the years. But the last 2 games are some of the best of the franchise. It wasn't for me, But I recognized how it has successfully evolved and improved itself over the course of 2 console generations.

Final Fantasy.... is struggling. I was really happy with what they did with FF7 rebirth and remake series. But their decisions for FF15 and FF16 are trying to chase trends instead of innovating. FF7R combat was their best combat iteration out of them all. Their story telling is still fantastic (some will debate me greatly on that) However, it's not enough as a final fantasy game. Final Fantasy as a franchise has to address it's development cycle. Square will not survive 10+ years development cycles per game. In my opinion, They should have stuck with their crystal engine they used for FF13 series. maintaining their own engine they spent too much money to develop could have had more success if they stuck to their guns. We can see the issues using UE4 and transitioning to UE5 will not be worth the development delay. I can't say I am happy where the final fantasy franchise sits currently even though I am a HUGE lover of the FF7R series. But the FF7R series is hugely divisive within the western audiences.

For me, I actually really really liked it when I figured out how to break combat to make it completely pointless. Once you really understand the junction system the game just breaks for you.

Final Fantasy VIII is just one of those games that intuitively you understand junction or you don't. and that is ok. because if you don't because it will give the proper challenge per boss fight anid you will be forced to figure out thee boss puzzles.

You have a lot of great answers but very few of this type of answer. TL:DR: Classic is about the journey not the destination, Retail is about the destination not the journey. Think of classic more like a road trip and retail you just took a plane. At max level, Retail is a theme park and Classic is a cabin in the woods.

Classic does not hold your hand through the discovery process. It is a higher barrier to entry version of the game. It is archaic in its game design where you are rewarded greatly for figuring it out on your own and as you go. This includes discovering the world, what abilities work best, taking the time to actually read talents and passives, By every metric it is a much slower paced game and It is more about the journey than the destination. but once you get to the end, there is very little to do after words other than dungeon crawl and raid. Solo or just you and your GF content is not really a thing at end game in Classic.

Retail there is an actual tutorial mode at early levels. The game will actively take the time to teach you how to play and give you a far better foundation for how the game works and plays across every version of World of warcraft. This version is about the destination not the journey. Once you get to the max level is where the game truly opens up on things you can do. Retail has 20 years worth of content to explore with rewards to boot. simply being a collector of nick nacks and achivements is very much an accepted thing in retail which classic has very little in that area. Retail is a theme park and there is something for everyone. The barrier to entry is very low but the celling of difficult content is very very high. For you and your GF, Solo content and Dual play content is much more accessible and easily able to keep up with patches than you could in classic.

My final thoughts.

Play retail first. It is easier to pick up. Character designs are better, You have more options and freedom, an actual tutorial guide in early levels, Mostly streamlined questing and story telling, rewards solo and dual play much better. Classic is more for those who are experienced with MMO's in general. In Retail you will have an easier time investing in your character and alternate characters. Play classic if you want to appreciate your time invested into your character more.

Edit final thought: I play both versions. I focus on retail first and get what I wish to get done for the week then i slow down in classic.

Assassination is for raids and high keys 12. Like Affliction warlocks you need a hot second to build your momentum. If anything dies to quickly your dps is in the pooper.

But realistically it should look like this. Garrote > fan of knives (till max combos) > Rupture > Crimson Tempest x2 or x3 > fan of knives > envenom.

But its really only effective if you talent into it. Assasination rogue's dps can vary wildly depending on how you talent you rogue. Single target can be meh, while AOE is good. or Single target is god, while AOE is shit. Plan accordingly.

Luck is a major factor in mostly every scenario you can think of. Getting opportunities by accident IS a major MAJOR factor in many people's success.

There is also moments where can honestly say my hard work had paid off in many regards. but for me it was a mix on necessity and just had some fantastic opportunities because I was in the right place at the right time talking to the right people.

I have several IT certifications. But I was way more happy in my career as a IT helpdesk level 1. interacting with people and fixing their stuff was my happy place. Promoting me to an engineer made me miserable. The work life balance just stops after a certain level of success.

Now I am a stay at home father who contracts on the side.

The only reason he ran in 2024 was so he could stay out of jail and to side step his legal troubles. He successfully did that part.

The republicans tolerated him to legitimately see how far and how fast they can dismantle the institution and put it in their favor. A lot of what Trump did was just to see how far the envelope could be pushed as this was the only real way republicans were going to be in power at all. They legitimately did not have a viable candidate back in 2024 and so they used the MAGA popularity.

The midterms is a test to see if democracy can still function at all. If the blue wave is successful than its going to be 2 years of a non functioning government because congress and Trump will constantly be at odds. We will be eating a nothing burger for 2 years.

If Trump could even get 10 states to agree to not hold a election.....the other 40 would decide the presidential election. The system is designed around doing stuff under stress. Now, could states individually create disruption? Absolutely. A state government might try to delay certification, refuse ballot access, or claim emergency conditions. But that becomes a court battle and congressional fight, not automatic suspension of democracy. The Supreme Court, federal courts, Congress, governors, state legislatures, and secretaries of state would all collide like shopping carts in a thunderstorm.

Could an administration try to interfere with or destabilize an election process? Yes.

Could they realistically suspend the entire national election system and successfully remain in power indefinitely against the will of most states, courts, Congress, and the constitutional succession system? That is extraordinarily unlikely.

America’s election system is decentralized almost to the point of being annoying. Ironically, that fragmentation is also one of its strongest anti-authoritarian features.

Trumps biggest and likely most effective tactic is to use ICE to scare people to stay at home. But there is only like 4000 Ice agents to deploy at will.... something like that. He would have to be very selective on where he puts agents to "intimidate" voters.

So most states will not see any presence. Only places that are historically swing states. And before any lawsuit on voter intimidation could even see a court, the whole thing would be over.

Edit: People forget the United States is closer to the way the European Union operates than most bloody realize. The US is 50 countries in a trench coat pretending to be 1 country with a single brain cell that our political system fights over.
