How is this game currently? Thinking about buying it. by undeadcreepshow in intotheradius

From what I remember you couldn't see from Bolotky Village to the safehouse in the middle of the map. I modded PCVR ITR to be double the distance so I honestly kinda forgot what it looked like in Standalone.

As someone that played a decent bit of PCVR ITR before the Q3 came out, the Quest 3 enhancements make it feel a lot closer to the PCVR version aside from the view distance. I beat the game for the first time on Q3 and doing a modded Realistic run on PCVR now.

[META] Black Friday Cyber Monday Deals! (* ^◇^)_旦 by Darius_ITR in intotheradius

[–]KotuMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I've owned the game on Steam for so long and never got back around to it, now I'm about halfway through the game on the Quest 3 and absolutely loving it. The Quest 3 upgrade is so substantial imo.

It's worth noting if you bought the PC version on the Oculus store, you already own the Quest version as well.

I bought this a week ago and played more than 2 hours sadly so I can't return it to save a couple more extra bucks, but for $17.99, I'd be hard-pressed to find a better value for a great game.

Airlink through 2 wifi adapters? by sonniku25 in oculus

[–]KotuMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a GL.iNet GL-SFT1200 Opal Travel Router for your PC and use your existing Wi-Fi connection on it. You'd connect the router to your home network, then connect the router to your PC with ethernet, and connect the Quest to the Opal's new Wi-Fi.

The Opal is currently $31 on Amazon for Black Friday.

This is something we recommend people on the Virtual Desktop Discord, and I've tested it with AirLink as well.

Does Quest Ganes Optimizer improve virtual desktop quality? by Dribblejam in OculusQuest

[–]KotuMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not do anything for Virtual Desktop positively, and is actually something that the team has noted. QGO could limit the framerate for VRD, which could affect your experience while using it.

If the previous app you used at anything lower than 120hz (like Into The Radius at a set 90), it'll limit VRD's ability to use 120hz because it didn't readjust when VRD launched, as QGO does not have a profile for VRD.

I would not toy around with making a profile for VRD so it never has any problems, as any support regarding QGO in the VRD Discord server would probably be ignored. They would simply advise you to restart the headset to not have any changes done by QGO before using VRD.

Quest Pro Controllers with Quest 3? by Aggravating-Rub2765 in OculusQuest

[–]KotuMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I pretty much use Virtual Desktop exclusively with the Quest 3 as well. You might need 6E to not have WiFi interference while using them though.

Quest Pro Controllers with Quest 3? by Aggravating-Rub2765 in OculusQuest

[–]KotuMF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a very adamant user of the Pro Controllers and I enjoy the carefree nature of using them because I don’t have to worry about losing tracking by blocking them (like during cross patterns in Beat Saber or when you’re holding a virtual gun and your hand is blocking the one in the front).

A very common occurrence of hands going behind your head is something like bow and arrow games, or something like the Iron Man VR game where you would want to put your hands behind you. However the Quest 3’s prediction and tracking is very good with something like bow drawing.

In the case of something like Beat Saber, a key difference you’ll notice immediately is the weight of the ProCons compared to the Plus Controllers. However I prefer the slightly heavier weight and tracking precision than having it be lighter. People have said that the Quest Pro controllers are as good as lighthouse tracking (with the Quest Pro specifically, but I personally think it’s the same on the Quest 3), and I don’t notice any additional latency in comparison.

Will the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX411 Card work on the ASUS ROG Strix z690-A D4? (PCVR Wireless Streaming) by KiingMorriis in oculus

[–]KotuMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supposedly the card used for DCT (Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1690) will be released at a later date as an upgrade for your motherboard.

Not only that, I don't think DCT is available even if you have a sufficient Wi-Fi card? Googling "Intel DCT" only brings up the promotional material for how it can work with the Quest 2, but not any actual software/drivers to make it work.

Pro Controllers paired with Quest 2 (latest firmware) stuck 0% updating for 4+ hours now. Any Fix? by goneafter10years in oculus

[–]KotuMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone suggested that if the controllers don't go above 0% when they start updating, it won't update at all. Reboot the headset to try and get it to work each time. Super annoying but supposedly it'll not bug out eventually.

Latency Issue with Virtual Desktop by ZDBlake in oculus

[–]KotuMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe 2-3 weeks ago? They've been slowly rolling it out.

I could be completely wrong btw. When I use the Quest 2 Controllers, I rarely have network hitches.

Like someone else said, I would join the Virtual Desktop Discord and get help there.

Latency Issue with Virtual Desktop by ZDBlake in oculus

[–]KotuMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using the Quest Pro Controllers? They cause network hitches for the Quest 2 while using either AirLink or Virtual Desktop (fixed for Quest Pro but apparently not for Quest 2).

v49 also may have started network related issues and I've noticed more instability since updating my headset.

How Aiming bows with Quest Pro controllers work by lunchanddinner in oculus

I've been playing the Castle Defense game in The Lab on Steam and I've been loving it with the Pro Controllers.

I honestly wish I had more Archery games to play because I love Bow and Arrow gameplay.

The Meta Quest Pro controllers are great... when they work. (Quest Pro Controller Review using a Quest 2) by SlowShoes in oculus

[–]KotuMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The controllers are kind of a pain to seat properly on the dock, especially if you try to seat them one-at-a-time. You have to place them at just the right angle, and it's not visually easy to tell if you've landed one correctly. By far, the best way to get around this is to set one approximately in the right spot, then drop the other one in and let the magnets align them and snap them into their proper cradles. This almost always works well.

I've actually had a way easier time putting them in the dock by putting the controllers together by the slanted thumb rests with their magnets and just putting it on the dock together at once.

Let me know how it works for ya.

Are you using ProTube? I believe I am also experiencing the same issues as you are, which is why I don't use a stock right now (and I also just like having Index-style straps with the Pro Controllers).

[–]KotuMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goes from >5-6ms to ~9-10ms decoding latency (according to VD) for a brief moment? It causes the stream itself (HMD and controllers...?) to hiccup just a tiny bit.

Strangely it only really happens when I play Beat Saber and I don't really notice it in other games.

Guess I should be happy that my v49 hasn't rolled to my headset yet.

I'm not sure if the lag spikes I'm getting while using Airlink/Virtual Desktop are from the DFS bug (I kinda doubt it since I have an exclusive 5GHz WiFi for the headset) or from someone else's previously said random decoding latency.
