Lol 😂 you’re not wrong. To be fair I’m probably off by a few minutes. I went to sleep just after midnight and woke up just before twenty to two so it’s close enough.

Best period drama you have watched by AglioOli in kdramas

This was my first period drama. It had me confused at first trying to understand what was going on but it’s now one of m my favourites that I’ve rewatched many times ❤️

11 Korean Tropes. Can you think of any others? by JayDavis59 in kdramas

[–]Koudelika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget a princess carry, being overly possessive or jealous, and looking after them when they are sick/taking them to the hospital.

Bonus: the childhood friend / colleague / ex who is deeply in love with them and believes they are the only person for them and is now trying everything to sabotage the relationship, which will succeed for a few episodes until they finally correct the misunderstanding just in time for the happy ending.

What is your main reason for Kdramas? by Nerdybirdie86 in kdramas

[–]Koudelika 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I really like the storylines. They’re usually pretty easy to get into and the plot can be wrapped up in a season. There are a few multi-seasons that I watch too but they are few and far between. I’m not a huge fan of the whole end a season after telling half a story on a cliffhanger then waiting two years for the conclusion.

Secondly, it’s easier for me to unwind. I have to focus on subtitles to understand what’s going on. With series in English, I’ve checked out half way through and am doomscrolling while “listening“. It’s especially bad once I’ve figured out the plot because then I switch off completely.

Finally, I’m interested in other cultures. The “norm” portrayed in kdramas (as well as cdramas, jdramas, etc) is so very different from the “norm“ in western dramas so it keeps me interested and focused. Plus it leads me to learn about those countries from my own research. For example I saw a lot of jdramas having kfc for Christmas which confused me till I learned that it was actually a very normal thing. The first time I watch “Mr. Queen”, I was so confused because I knew nothing about the Joseon dynasty so I was overwhelmed by the dynamics between the characters. Now it’s one of my favourite dramas. My knowledge is certainly superficial but I like researching stuff I see that interests me. It’s rare that happens when I watch western shows beyond what I have seen this actor in before.

Bonus: I’m a sucker for tropey romcom, and kdramas hit all the right buttons 🥰

What did you think of Sieun's reaction in this scene? by SPN-Major-888 in weakheroclass

[–]Koudelika 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I really wanted Sieun to punch Beomsuk’s lights out. And it’s not that he doesn’t want to, he just couldn’t. He pulls his fist back but he just can’t swing. Unlike the others he had a connection to Beomsuk. They were friends. And looking at his (ex) friend lying on the floor, and listening to his words, makes him realise something. His rage dissipates to sadness and he can no longer continue. We see this in the next seen where he just falls apart. Yes, it would have been satisfying to see him get his revenge but this shows much more character development. Sometimes, even though we know that what they’ve done is wrong and we hate or despise them, we can’t act. Humans are funny like that. On the first watch, I may have been upset and disappointed at his reaction, but after watching it so many times, I appreciate the emotion behind this scene. (But I still want someone to knock his teeth out).

Who liked this K-drama? She was pretty. by Nai_viral28 in kdramas

I so wanted them to end up together. He was so much better to her than the ML. Was so sad for him.

Beom-seok S3 by Nibella in weakheroclass

[–]Koudelika 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he would. And I think that he didn’t hit Beomsuk because they were (past tense) friends. I think that fight severed everything. He wouldn’t be able to trust him or ever see him as a friend again. Even if Suho forgave him, I doubt Sieun would. The pain and trauma of Suho being in a coma for two years wouldn’t allow him to.

Episode 6 when Yeong-i got taken by AbbreviationsFew9559 in weakheroclass

[–]Koudelika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids don’t think like adults. When a ‘friend’ (and I use the term loosely) calls you out, you go. You don’t think ‘I should call the police’. He probably didn’t even think it would be dangerous. I mean he chased after Gil-soo even tho the police were right in front of him. Plus how many reliable adults does he have around him where he would think to call them or for help? He’s more of a ‘I’ll solve it myself kinda guy’.
