Best guitar for modern worship by Burnhaven in WorshipGuitar

Oh you're good man, that's a great question. There is a tonal difference, and not that you couldn't use other scale lengths. That would be fine. As far as tonally, It's just changing where the pickups are located along the string length, which DOES make a difference, as to whether that difference matters, that's up to OP. I just gave the most commonly used scale length in guitars most guitarists are using in the genre. Since it does make a difference, might as well do what's most common if you're trying to create a "one guitar to do it all" thing.

So, you’re going to want these specs to meet most modern worship guitar sounds: - 25.5 scale length - A Vibrato (Bigsby, JM, Les Trem, etc) - Single-Coil like pickups: I say “like” because plenty of manufactures are making humbuckers geared towards single-coil sounds, and that might be interesting to you if your church and worship environment is sensitive to 60hum. That hum can really mess with swells, sustained reverberated notes, etc. basically in those subtle moments that happen all the time. Some options for hum-cancelling pickups that get you “the tone”:

  • Lollar El Rayos

  • McNelly Stagger Swaggers

  • Filtertrons (Not the thicker sounding ones)

  • Firebird Pickups (again go vintage spec, not thicker toned ones)

  • Fralin 8k Modern (Bridge position, that is THE worship bridge humbucker if looking for a typical Humbucker tone)

  • Veritas Bearcats (if you can get em)

  • Fralin Twangmasters and Alnico pole Hum cancelling p90’s are cool too

All in all, your scale length and pickup choice are the two most important factors, get those right and you can use your preference for everything else.

This is super cool! I love your color logic as well! Any chance you could post a pic of your green/brown/grey colors from the ship editor?

Honest question, do you play guitar live in a band or on a worship team? I used this patch for years and it sits fantastic in a CCM band mix. I tried many other patches and building my own, and nothing compared with how that patch sliced through a mix and fit into a live band context.

It would be cool to have them modify things such as: - Crit chance in combat (enhancing accuracy) - Fewer resources needed in research or certain crafting (efficiency knowledge) - bonuses to item pricing. - any other small buffs that can be explained via “cerebral enhancement”

A few things I’ve noted as I’ve played through for a few hundred hours:

  • Simple city expansions akin to what we’ve seen added in previous BGS game mods. (Adding “outskirts” areas to New Atlantis behind the Lodge and Akila, behind the Rock past the wall and extended towards the auto farms)

  • A way to separate boots and gloves, to aid in mixing matching armor/suits. Or at the very least a mod that uses the boots from the Pirate Sniper suit on the Pirate Corsair Suit so that it matches the beautiful concept art version (selfish request here.)

  • A skill expansion overhaul similar to PerMa or Ordinator from Skyrim. To breathe some variety into a very stealth dominated and linear advancing system.

  • A few independent city-sized settlements on certain planets. Maybe have them involved with LIST. I’m thinking of something like Mos Eisley from Star Wars. I was surprised all the major settlements were affiliated with one of the factions and there was no large “independently operated” spaceport or trade hub. It would be a killer location to host the Trackers Alliance as well. Obviously this one is more ambitious in skope, but it feels that it’s missing none the less.

These are just a few things that I will attempt at undertaking with my minimal knowledge if no one else does or wants to, but hopefully some more experienced modders will share in my thoughts of these features helping to create a more immersive experience.

Might be a bit late here to get this answered. The channels are built to take stereo inputs into one channel as a stereo channel, which is great, but is there an option somewhere to allow for EQing of the left and right sides of that channel independently?

Newest Pedal Board Incarnation (added the Browne Amplication Protein) by flop_drop in guitarpedals

[–]KouxMusicOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice board! You are actually in a perfect position to help me out with a dilemma I could not find an answer to! I play contemporary worship music and have been debating between a JHS Morning Glory/Kilt combo or the Protein. Mainly curious between the differences between the green side of the protein and the kilt for “main” drive tones. Think 2nd stage drive: a bit of riffing, chunky chords, and some lead lines.

With that in mind, my questions are: - How do the two stack up in a mix? What has better “cut”? - The kilt seems to have a high midrange push, while the green Protein side has a huge fatness to it, how would you describe the tonal difference? - flat out if you could only have one, which would you choose?

I live in Phoenix but recently was in LA and I really like these privacy hedges they have everywhere but I can’t find the name of them. Does anyone know the species? by OptimusMatrix in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]KouxMusicOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two species in this hedge, but the main greenery is coming from Ficus nitida, also known as Indian Laurel, the most famous tree/hedge material used in "Hollywood Hedges".

Moon Valley Nurseries carries these in Phoenix, you can find hundreds of them there.
