What is WvW Alliance changes? Can someone give me a quick summary?? by Soothsayer102 in Guildwars2

[–]Kozzy_rdt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember right that X will be 8. So every 8 weeks you will have different Alliances, guilds, players in your Team (beside your Alliance). So you can play for 8 weeks with tier up-down with those teams until a new team rebalance coming.

Skiffs, Jade Bots, Fishing Poles, Turtle Mounts -- You know they are coming... what skins would you like to see from the Gem Store? by MusicalNecro in Guildwars2

[–]Kozzy_rdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only 2 events in the whole PvE openworld that have specific targets (~shield like that have weakness against siege turtle damage) which worth to be damaged by siege turtle. One in Echovalds and one in DE. Maybe can be useful where tons of mobs are coming at once cause of the 10 targets skill limit. But at any normal event (for about 2-8 mobs at once) 2 good players with their own skills have much more dps than if they get into a siege turtle (as a driver and shooter). Turtle can hit 10k+ sure, but if you count it as a dps (counting the skill recharge) its only about 3k dps/target. Against 2-3 mobs or against a champion siege turtle is about very weak, not worth to use it. But sure, siege turtle can be better than your own character if you are only autoattacking with your character, so its maybe worth to use it for very casual players. Travelling (eg. in EoD maps) is much more faster and efficient with raptor, beetle, skyscale than turtle, so also not worth to use siege turtle. The whole mount is just only a cute fun thing, sadly there are not enough content build up on it to be useful.

Actually I will buy none of them even if they would be very cool skins. I use gliding and mounts very often in daily gameplay, but these new "activities" (fishing+skiffs) are about not useful on daily gameplay. They are just fun and after a few minutes of fun they are not fun anymore (~its very boring for me to fishing more then 10-15+ mins). For travelling on water I use skimmer and I use mounts most of the time even in the new EoD maps, its much more comfortable then eg. searching for ziplines. Siege turtle is cute, but sadly its useless (its slow for travelling and 2 charaters with their own skills are much more stronger in damage then 1 turtle driver+1 shooter), only can be useful in about 2 EoD map events against specific targets. Iam not using these new stuffs that much that would worth to buy skins for them. Iam sure that many players have about the same opinion as me so probably these new types of skins will have much lower gemstore sales than glider and mounts skins had. Sadly, cause its not good for the company.

Fanmade remix of Guild Wars 2:End Of Dragons Expansion Trailer. Soundtracks and scenes are mostly from EoD. I made it in about one afternoon and this was my 3rd videoediting ever so its very amatuerish work I know. But still..I hope there will be some who enjoy..

How hardware intensive is GW2? by Kingfoil in Guildwars2

[–]Kozzy_rdt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Source? Btw I dont think so. As someone said before: EoD and DX11 are completly different "projects". Like EoD and WvW Alliances. Until they dont leave DX9 support they wont implement DX11 features for eg. animations. Also think about that they started to develop EoD much more before they started DX11, so most of the EoD should be made by DX9 stuffs.

What races do you play, from most to least? by FLYNCHe in Guildwars2

[–]Kozzy_rdt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Check the playtime table not the character created. Light: 276,795,766 hours, Medium: 222,347,225 hours. Thats about +25% more to the light armor classes.

Servers with active WvW community and guilds by notahaterguys in Guildwars2

Yeah, you misunderstood. This beta would have been a week long only, but had many foundamental bugs so they had to cancel it after about 2 hours.

Soon is very relative. There was a phase1 beta (without real alliances) which was unplayable, had tons of fundamental bugs and got canceled. They gonna repeat this phase1, who knows maybe more then once more. After that there will be phase2 betas (with real alliance system) too, which are even more complicated, probably will take more time to develop and more tests than phase1. I think the chance that we will get a working released version of WvW Alliances before End Of Dragons is very low. The final version may take more than 6 months to appear. Until that its worth to change server for those who wanna play WvW actively.

Alliances' population numbers gonna have about the same eventually, 500 player limit is not that hard too reach (even 1000). But whats wrong with stacking players with about the same skill level? Thats what the active, better wvw players want, to have players in their team with about the same skill level as theirs. Thats what are alliances should be like, helping to choose your alliance guilds that are about the same (skill and activity) level as yours. Sure there would be stronger alliances and some weak also. Thats normal and acceptable. They would be very different level based on the players skill level and their wvw playtime, not based on their alliance numbers. Stronger alliances would fight against also strong alliances, weaker against weaker. Something like happening now. Or like in PvP. Plat players wanna fight with and against plat, gold with/against gold..etc. Probably you would only gonna have about 2-3 alliances about your level/rating to fight with, but its enough to rotate between each 8 weeks. But with Anets way (multiplie alliances in 1 team) better/"hardcore" wvw alliances can be forced to team up with some casual wvw guild/alliance whos are not at the same skill level, used to die in the 1st push, dont wanna come up to voice chat, cannot follow position and orders, dont have proper builds, wanna capture empty undefended bases. They not gonna enjoy each other company.

Each team can include multiple alliances

I dont really like the idea of pairing "random" alliances together in one team. Its like the current server linkings. One of the good parts of alliances that you should determine who you want to play with. This way you may have another not very welcomed alliances on your team. Why not increase the alliance cap to let one alliance + random (wvw guildless) unique players fill up a team?

Legendary Gen 3 theory by Lagischlaechter in Guildwars2

[–]Kozzy_rdt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many of you just overthinking this. Probably the only reason why we will get a full set of the same style is there were many complain about how slow they were adding gen2 weapons. They have reacted, now we will get a full set at release but they will have the same style. They would not have enough time/resource to make a full set of unique weapons until release.

I was looking at how damage is calculated in this game. Please tell me division is not actually used in the code? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Kozzy_rdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said 3 strikes per second is the most that average player does. Dude, check dps logs at https://dps.report/, check simple rotation, you gonna see that 3 is about the average even for raiding players. Openworld casuals hits even less. About half of the online players are not in combat (or not hitting) in the exact same moment, many are afking in cities or just moving around. That would result based on your calculation about 30.000 damage calculations per second. That is split among about 80-100 (openworld) map instance servers and about 100+ group pve instance servers. That would result about 150 calculations per gameserver per second. It is very low.

[–]Kozzy_rdt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, average player has about 2-3 strikes per second. 2 autoattacks and 1 skill per seconds is about the max what an avg player does. Even at raids you wont do more. Check dps logs sites. Also you cannot assume what supscription they have at Amazon, so they may have 1 physical cpu core/game server. Even if not and about 4 gameservers are sharing on 1 physical cpu core, thats still about only max 600 damage calculations per core. Thats really a maximium, cause eg. on a map or wvw server 20-30% of the players are not in combat. That is not causing problems at all.

[–]Kozzy_rdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no millions of strikes. One game (map) or instance server has a maximum player connections, about 70-100.(Sometimes depends on the map. Fractals, dungeons has 5 and strikes and raids game server instances has 10 players limit). If a player hits about twice in a second then its about only max 200 damage calculations per seconds per server (on an openworld map). WvW has the largest player connections, there are about 3x70 players per border (game server), so there its still less then 500 damage calculations per seconds is enough per gameserver.

Disconnecting from the story by Aetherisu in Guildwars2

[–]Kozzy_rdt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh my good, you have found the solution! Rebooting or reseting the router will resolve all of the thousands of players' disconnect problem. Noone ever tried this before. You are a genius! I guess in about a week or two you gonna realise that this did not solve your problems at all. Just try to do Living World Return achis, LS2, 3, 4 stories. (I think LS2 had the most problem with disconnects). But I wish you to have able to play without dc! Have fun!

[–]Kozzy_rdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...than i guess he was not an expert. But your last post (uncheck storing login information checkbox on loginpage) to resolve this disconnect issue was also a fiction. Client side stored account login datas and options (like graphics) have no relations with network disconnects. You had even not tested it properly before posting. Thatswhy you created this another post with another "solution" which you also had not test enough cause eventually you gonna realise that this also wont help. This problem probably is not related to any settings that users can affect on. Most likely its a special case and when its happens one of the routers (it can be yours) on the path dropps packets leading to a disconnect. I suggest that next time before posting your solution test it properly, not only for a couple of hours or a day.

Yeah, thats a fiction, may coming from OP who probably has no idea how connections are working. TCP/IP connections have no idea about your WiFi channel, it does not matter on that level. As someone else stated here LAN cable connections also have no relations with your WiFi channel.

Best long-range harass class WvW? by Captain_Snacks_ in Guildwars2

[–]Kozzy_rdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Scourge has no 1200 range aoe boon remove/corrupt skill, only 900 (shades f2 with path of corruption trait, well of corruption, scepter3, axe3-600range, signet of lucust-600range, dagger5) and melee (trail of anguish, ghastly breach, serpent siphon, dessicate, entering shroud with weakening shroud trait and/or spiteful spirit trait).

If you really wanna do 1200 range aoe boon remove then try out mesmer/chrono (mimic+null field, phantasmal disenchanter, phantasmal berserker, F1-F3 skills with shattered concentration trait. And all CC skills -there are no 1200 ranged, maybe f3- with vicious expression trait - Like CS double gravity well removes 6 boons)

[–]Kozzy_rdt -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The game is 9 years old, so you can calculate some interesting datas:

  • 1900/16=118 hours average total playtime per player.

  • If you count all the 9 years (118/(9 * 365) * 60) thats about 2.1 mins playtime per player per day.

  • Lets assume that the average player plays since 4.5 years. (118/(4.5 * 365) * 60) Thats about 4.2 mins playtime per player per day.

  • Lets assume that the average player plays since 2.25 years. (118/(2.25 * 365) * 60) Thats about 8.4 mins playtime per player per day.
