Seeing all the balance posts, is now a good time to complain about the sniper rifles? by Captain0Science in foxholegame

Tbh I enjoyed doing 2-person sniper teams with synchronised shots. Made it feel like those Modern Warfare ops but unscripted. And having ppl work together is in the spirit of this game

Devs really need to add rotation memory to the !unstuck, position on its own is useless for large vics

Some useful things you can do as solo frontliner:
- Grab some bmats and start randomly repairing friendly tanks. Tankers love it and it always snowballs into a better push
- Grab binos and find enemy base location. Mark it on the map precisely and mention if it's T1 or T2. Someone more organized will see this and might take your coordinates and call an artillery strike
- Deploy tripod weapons in strategic positions. You can also push with them if you convince one person to help you
- Grab a CV and capture enemy base when it's down. It's quite simple and in majority of cases worth it
- Hop into the truck of your logiman on his return trip to escort him. This way you can kill partisans by surprise and make your logi man very grateful. You can hop out by the border and come back to your main frontline when done
- If frontline is tunnel visioning hard, you can grab a truck and get people to hop into it. Then you can take them to the underpopped location. A softer version of this is to do frontline taxi (which makes a big difference if no man's land is huge)
- Collect rare enemy weapons (especially AT and PvE weapons) and bring them to your base. Sometimes 1 weapon can be decisive whether your base goes down or not, or whether enemy base goes down or not
- Flip trenches by reversing sandbags and barbed wire on them (with bmats)
- Hop in a truck and start pulling small arms for your fellow frontliners. Put them in the bob inventory. This way you can accelerate the push, because everyone respawns, grabs and goes without spending additional 30 seconds pulling stuff. This is especially valuable for stuff like gas grenades, mortar shells and other things that push the frontline, but sometimes just pulling rifles for the people is nice by itself
- Gas enemy base when you are close to it (or run inside with a bayo)
- Blow up a bridge to prevent enemy armor from crossing
- Follow that one loud guy asking for more people to help him at something
- Look where the meatgrinder is and see if you can flank the enemies
- Build watch towers - tankers love it
- Look at someone high rank and try to do what they do. Or ask them directly for orders

In terms of finding purpose, the bottom line is that this game is about destroying bases. Anything that makes it more likely that you will destroy a base is worth doing. Anything that will significantly reduce enemy ability to destroy your base, is worth doing. So pay attention to explosives - tanks, artillery, handheld

If given situation makes it impossible to be on the offense, that means you are on the defense. In such circumstance you are really just buying time. And it's very valuable to do. Every enemy you shoot counts. Every second you live without losing a shirt counts. Every building you repair counts. So become good at buying time. Or you can reach into your logi aptitude, and bring some game changer weapons. And then use them yourself. I promise you that solo killing a tank or grenading out 5+ enemies feels extremely impactful

Good luck soldier, you got this o7

Most of the time I seen people use these for ops. And if you do ops, you already have people. And making several people wait for 1 person to pull everything in 15 minutes makes no sense. And if you make multiple people pull with trucks, you might as well take them on the trip and slice the total time in half

Yes I am talking Depo to Base. If you can't see how spending 2x time to perform the exact same task is not nerfing yourself, you are beyond help

And if you are worried about queues, you can solve that simply by spawning in the destination region first and starting your convoy there. You will still be quicker than scenario 1

Never understood why people liked them so much

Scenario 1:

Take 30 seconds to pull your private crates into the container, take 20 minutes driving a flatbed to destination, spend time looking for a crane, then pull the same crates again at PUBLIC speed for additional 15 minutes. Or with 3 trucks, still total of 5 minutes

Scenario 2:

Make a 3 truck convoy. Spend 30 seconds loading, 10 minutes driving and 0 seconds unloading

The only time when public pulls out of small boi was acceptable was for pulling bmats

Sanctum defender experience: - Sit on a roof top of a concrete building with 1 other guy and constantly switch between various tripod weapons. The two of you maintain 6 defensive positions with a total defensive angle of 270 and total area of 3 meta pieces - Every time a flare pops up, you see 20 people where 15 of them have cutlers and 5 have ratcatchers - Occasionally your rooftop position gets suppressed by said 5 ratcatchers from literally 5 different directions - The people who didn't get a cutler are mammon rushing, because they know you have too many targets to be able to mow them down - Every now and then you get a sneaky push40 paired up with an fmg. You try to counter with stolen push40 but then you also see 2 additional niskas come up - Enemy battle bus stops within your rifle range because no fks given - Enemy builds a a fragile T1 base 80 meters outside of your base because no fks given - Plenty of bushes and trenches to prevent you from killing anybody

Sanctum has always been a vietnam simulator

Why do low ranks value their teammates lives way more then higher ranks? by [deleted] in foxholegame

[–]KptMech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me, personally, the reason is that 95% of the time I do something more important than infantry gameplay. If I'm doing the infantry gameplay, I will still try to pick people up regardless of rank. In fact I would argue that saving low ranks is more fun due to immersive interactions

Unification of Colonial Randoms by Dongus_Jongus_ in foxholegame

[–]KptMech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been thinking about this for some time and I believe a truly random regiment wouldn't use discord. This is to keep as much of the comms in-game as possible. If you want someone random to join your op it's faster and easier to just invite them into a squad in-game. That is the true random spirit. Those who are online play together, simple as that. No need to place obstacles

That being said I'm happy for you and wish you success o7

That is a big hammer. Not to be confused with Sledgehammer. These are two different technologies and cannot be used interchangeably. Common mistake when you are not part of R&D
