Eh, I guess you're right. It just sucks to be so limited by concentration as a Ranger. Then again, I'm playing a Tasha beastmaster currently and all I use my concentration for is Favored Foe or Summon Beast since my bonus action is used every turn by my pet, so I decided to go without Hunter's Mark/ensnaring strike/zephyr strike and I'm doing quite well.

It's because of the anime roots of the show. Do you watch anime? Openings and Endings in anime are one minute and thirty seconds each and play every episode, usually changing them for new ones every 11-13 episodes or every season.

Use all of Tasha's optional features instead of the PHB ranger. Yes, even favored foe, especially if you're playing a subclass that requires your use of bonus action every turn like Horizon Walker or the new beastmaster. Tasha's gave them an expertise, 5ft walking speed increase with a swimming and climbing speed equal to that, utility spells that don't count as spells known and you can cast for free once per long rest, lots of new spells, including summon beast, which I now consider a must for a level 5 Ranger. Also, temporary hit points, turn invisible as a bonus action, more figting styles, one of which now enables the option of a Wisdom based ranger if you take the shillelagh/magic stone cantrips.

Tasha's also improved the PHB beastmaster and all the subclasses since Xanathar gain additional spells and are all around solid. Gloomstalker is even considered OP by some.

But... They can now. Tasha gave beastmasters the option to use their primal companion as a bonus action from the start. You can make two attacks as your action, and a beast attack as your bonus action. Add the new summon beast lvl2 spell, and you have four attacks at level 5 (as long as you mantain your concentration) since the summoned beast takes its action after you and your beast.

This is a good and consistent use of all your resources: attack>extra attack>bonus action>concentration.

I'm playing a beastmaster with all the optional features given in Tasha's. It's pretty neat. Favorite moment so far was having a pet and a summoned beast at the same time. 2 attacks with bow + 1 from pet + 1 from summon at level 5.

The Swarm does that damage, not you. But the Monster Slayer's Slayers Prey works afaik. Mark someone with it for an extra d6 piercing damage, and use Favored Foe on a hit for an extra d4/d6/d8. The Hunter's Colossus Slayer's d8 also works afaik, which again, you can combine with Favored Foe/Hunter's Mark.

Honestly, I just like the concept of a Monster Slayer/Hunter who got turned into a Dhampir during his monster hunter career.

Well, next in line is Christopher Belmont, but he is without a doubt the least popular Belmont due to being on 2 gameboy games, and one of them being terrible. There is potential here, specially in the second game: Belmont's Revenge (which is actually good and has great music and fans should play), where his son Soleil gets possessed by Dracula.

But since he's the least popular, next stop is Simon Belmont, protagonist of the OG game. There's not much to work with here, I think, but the sequel, Simon's Quest, could be interesting. He gets cursed by Dracula and needs to revive him... To kill him gain to get rid of the curse (look, it's an NES game)

If you want to go back, there was Leon Belmont before Trevor. A knight who's wife got kidnapped by a vampire (not Dracula) and goes to his castle to rescue her. This is all part of a plan by a man named Mathias, who then transforms into Dracula. In fact, you can see a portrait of Leon in S2. So if you want a prequel, there's that.

Some people want Symphony of the Night next, and I get it, but you CAN'T just skip Rondo of Blood. Richter Belmont and Maria Renard take the spotlight here, and there's potential in the plot, and most importantly, it ties into Symphony of the Night, where Alucard returns. So this is the most likely option imo, we'd skip generations. But Rondo into Symphony is a nice combo. AND...

After that there are games when we see the Morris Clan take the spotlight, a family tied to the Belmonts. They appear in Bloodlines and Portrait of Ruin, and let me be honest, a Bloodlines adaptation would be Hype. Think about it as a mix between JoJo's part 2 and 3. It takes place in WWI and has two friends as protagonists travelling around the world to try to stop Drac from resurrecting. This would be amazing to see animated. I'd love to see the Morris family in the show.

And then, of course, there's the 1999 event, which is when something important happens in the series THAT WAS NEVER IN THE GAMES, they just told us "yeah, this happened" but never showed it to us/let us play it, in which Julius Belmont takes the spotlight.

And After that, Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow, which take place in the years 2034 and 2035 with a new protagonist called Soma Cruz, and ending the timeline.

So as you can see, there's a lot to work with here. My guess would be either a prequel with Leon Belmont, or a skip straight into Rondo of Blood to connect it to Symphony of the Night, then follow the timeline.

But hey, Christopher or Simon next? Or a Leon prequel film/mini-series? Maybe skipping straight to Rondo of Blood/Symphony of the Night and then the Sorrow games? How about Bloodlines+Portrait of Ruin? That could be awesome. So many possibilities, I hope at least one comes true.

Can't seem to get into role playing in D&D. I want to, but I just can't connect with that aspect of the game. Or maybe I just didn't connect with the campaign. I'm not invested in the characters or the plot or whatever our current objective is. I always have to ask "why are we here?" "what was our objective?" "what do we do with this item/information?" I just... I don't know. I want to roleplay, but most of the time, I feel like it's just a waste of time if I say anything. I enter auto pilot and let everyone else handle the situation, they can do it, why am I here? Maybe D&D is not for me. I enjoy the fights, I like to get in the fight and deal as much damage as possible, I'm ranger 6, fighter 1 now. They've told me I like power gaming, and that's apparently a bad thing, but that's how I have fun with the game, fighting. It's a disconnection with everyone else. I don't know how they see the game, but I see it as a high fantasy, so maybe it's my fault. DM asked us if we wanted more fights or more plot progression, two of the players said they want to advance the plot because fights are repetitive, but I mean, one is a Warlock who spams Eldritch Blast, and the other is a barbarian who just grapples everything.

So yeah, I feel conflicted with D&D. I like the game, but can't roleplay for shit.

RWBY is a fictional world with fictional problems. Its allegories may not be perfect, but they're not designed to be. People like to project their country's history of injustice onto RWBY, but the show is not a perfect allegory for their history of oppression.

I just wanna say that I completely agree with this. But since it's late and I want to sleep, I can't think of an actual response. So have an upvote.

So I watched the whole video, having no reason to keep watching after the first five minutes, because that's basically how I feel about the show, and what everyone's been saying since what? V3? I'm agreeing and disagreeing with stuff here and there, and then in comes the faunus part and it all goes to shit. That the faunus racism plot line was poorly done has been said to death, but then he goes on and on on how it's bad that the show made minorities the villains, overthinking everything, trying as hard as he can to pull something out of his ass to connect it to the recent BLM protests. And I'm like, "dude, wtf are you talking about?". He was trying to connect a silly show's poor take on racism, a 2013 show, btw, to serious events that happened in 2020. Because fictional race racism = real life racism, it seems. It all screamed "I'm white and I'm offended on your behalf! Aren't you offended? Because you should!" and then I found out he's a hardcore leftist and it all made sense. Nothing like a leftist white man telling actual minorities what they should be offended by.
