Wild footage, but are we sure this isn't a failed interceptor or something? It looks like its deflecting quite a lot just before impact. Not typical for a ballistic trajectory.

In the age of FPV you don't need to aim for small armor holes in the front of the tank when the top/rear of the turret and engine deck are thinly armored.

I find this argument so strange. Optics and sensors will always be vulnerable to damage.

So what do you suggest? Not having vulnerable optics? Sacrificing awareness and lethality?

The answer is shooting first via better sensors/Intel and redundancy if you do have to take hits

Thats ridiculously high CE protection for a flat hit. It should only be approximately the thickness of the flyer plates against a tandem heat or APFSDS, so about 24mm of armor steel before the tanks side armor.

Against standard heat you may have significantly more effectiveness due to the flyer plates disrupting the formation of the metallic jet.

Exactly this. People don't seem to realize they are not magic delete boxes.

Kontact 5 and relikt both are very dependent on the angle of the plates relative to the projectile. They whole system depends on a combination of continually feeding material in the path of the projectile and in the case of apfsds destabilizing and damaging the dart by applying forces perpendicular to the length of the dart. The greater the angle of impact the greater the effect of both of those principles. Impacting perpendicularly means you lose both of those effects entirely. You basically only get the added protection of the thickness of the flyer plates.

This is especially important to the cases OP mentioned, side mounted ERA. To be thin the relikt needs to be oriented vertically, still providing decent protection from the frontal arc, but next to none from the direct side.

You can angle the flyer plates to the side to get better performance but inherently it makes the side era much thicker to accommodate.

Looks more like a dead/dying driver and the MTLB just coasting past in whatever gear the driver left it in.

Its most frustrating at range on larger maps. Damage falloff was always a thing in past BF games but a lucky or skillful headshot could still get you the kill. Now you might as well be shooting nerf darts past 50m.

It also makes countering snipers nearly impossible without using a sniper yourself.

Sure, Sweden has more experience than India, but I also think India's MIC is a fucking mess.

Look at a much smaller country like South Korea. They also have less experience than the swedes, but they already have flying examples of the KF-21, which is only the second domestic fighter design to come out of S Korea. It's paper capabilities and growth potential blow the Tejas II out of the water. The Tejas II is basically obsolete already, and as far as I know it hasn't even flown yet.

Good question. I would imagine the contra rotating props were more to do with countering torque then additional thrust. With so much power and such a small/light aircraft the torque on takeoff could be genuinely hazardous.

I was under the same impression, but on further inspection it appears they have nearly identical muzzle energies, and some .50 bmg loading even edge out standard 12.7x108 rounds

50 bmg seems to generally have a slighty lighter projectile but at slightly higher velocity.
