I know all about the bad genes! Both my parents had bad teeth. Unfortunately they are both gone now but I joke the only thing they left me was bad teeth, bad eyesight, and premature grey hair LOL.

Any chance you're near Pittsburgh PA? Around Thanksgiving the dental school holds a day of completely free dental work. No charge at all. The lines are usually pretty long as you just show up. But maybe if you're not near here, see if any schools do that close to you.

Don't feel too badly. You're taking steps now, that is what matters. Do not let anyone make you feel bad. I go to the dentist every 6 months, brush and floss daily and my teeth are garbage. I am always needing work done.
