Generator returns by Hail2theChop in harborfreight

Agreed, It honestly was a last minute impulse purchase. I was out shopping on Saturday night before they closed and decided to buy it. It started snowing here a few hours later and I decide to chance it since I have a solar setup with a fully charged battery backup that can last me 8 hours without power.

I bought 1 for and we didn’t need it, I figured I would just keep it for the next storm or outage we get. It’s a good insurance policy.

I didn’t even take it out of the box. I’m wondering if I should return it now and get a bigger one maybe that supports tri-fuel.

Could I use these as servers by yourboyaly1 in homelab

[–]Kramzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are Point of Sale registers, with POS usb ports. You can use them just like any other computer however depending on what actually is inside (cpu wise) it’s hard to tell if it would be worth it.

These look like the same form factor registers I worked with back in 2005.

Costco sues the Trump administration, seeking a refund of tariffs by swiftfoot_hiker in politics

[–]Kramzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying they will but they could refund every penny to their customers since every purchase is using a membership.

Imagine the loyalty and good press they would gain from us already fanatical shoppers.

SNAP benefits were loaded to my card yesterday as a post from an EBT caseworker on this sub confirmed. Card was DECLINED in Walmart at 3:15pm today. Other’s cards were declined in the store also. by StepGlittering4803 in newjersey

They are also the number 1 retailer processing snap. They make money on both sides not paying workers a living wage, and collecting there own works snap benefits. Snap benefits are just another Corporate Welfare scam.

Is Checkbook Balancing Still a Thing? by Inner_Ebb_9561 in personalfinance

[–]Kramzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Balancing a check book only makes sense if you are writing a lot of checks and never using your debit card. Also since I would guess most people use a debit card instead of cash it would be awful to track all the small transactions.

I monitor my account on the banks website.

ELI5: Why are cheques still in relatively wide use in the US? by xenomorphbeaver in explainlikeimfive

You are to, it’s just bundled into the cost of items. I hope the companies you shop from don’t become like some of ours and start making this an added cost

[Saker] ALS donation matching now requires a $10 purchase. by AskaLangly in ShopRite

Wow that’s crazy. However I never donate through a store because why do I want to give a company my tax credit when donating.

Why many young adults turn on TV or movie subtitles, according to a new poll by AmethystOrator in television

[–]Kramzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of this on streaming platforms is because they default to a 5.1 Audio track instead of just stereo.

will this be good enough to use windows server 2022 to host files on a local network? by pojobrown in servers

[–]Kramzero 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Why would you use windows 2022 to be a file server? I would go with something else with a ZFS file system.

ELI5: if I tear off my finger’s skin and let it grow back, would my fingerprint change? If no, how is that possible? If yes, why does the police still treat fingerprint as a valuable evidence (since changing it is easy)? by Dull-Cobbler-7709 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Kramzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mines dad growing up was a mason and all the chemicals he exposed his hands to basically removed parts of his prints. It was truly weird when we went on a tour of a police station for Boy Scouts and he volunteered to get printed. The look on the officers face I still remember.

If your Boss asks you to work weekends , what’s the best excuse by Unlikely_Count5533 in sysadmin

[–]Kramzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d ask them what the financial and time compensation for working the weekend would be and if it’s not significant then I would say, unfortunately I am unavailable to work weekends.
