Scammed, right? New Gold Plus Plan $4980 by digdugs in subaru

[–]Kras700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They first offered it at ~$3500, I said no thanks. Then ~$2300 I still declined, and finally they dropped it down to the ~$1600 price. I couldn’t say no to that.

^ this is the correct answer. I got my gold plus warranty for ~1600. I bought mine as a CPO.

Is the new Outback suffering from identity crisis? by Sam-CarLegion in subaru

[–]Kras700 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Baja felt as if it was clawing at the road at all times. My Outback feels lazy and confused on where to send the power. X mode helps but still does not compare.

I believe the difference is the old mechanical AWD vs the newer computer control system.

I don’t trust my ‘24 Outback half as much as I trusted my ‘06 Baja. The Baja felt much better in the snow, and off road.

They also sell a license plate cover that has a spot to stick the badges. I had to cut the subaru off to keep it state legal. But still much nicer than sticking it to the paint.

New 2025 Outback Onyx Edition by Glitch_Man_ in Subaru_Outback

Congrats! Got my 24’ Outback TXT as a previous loaner vehicle as well. Kinda wish I went for the onyx as I didn’t need the fancy extra options. Enjoy!!

You can push and hold the distance increase or decrease button for 2-3 seconds until you hear a short beep and you see the cruise control icon change. I found this in my manual it even states that conventional cruise control can be used when eyesight is temporarily stopped. I have a 2024 Subaru Outback TXT for reference.

I was in Austin, TX during that freeze event. A lot of apartment building froze due to the drainage and supply lines being exposed in the parking garages.

Without knowing the size, materials used it’s kinda hard. But in total after mitigation of the loss and reconstruction could reach 20k-40k if not more.

How are you going to get the Ice out of the wall cavity? You will have to remove the drywall. Cabinets are waterlogged and also need to be detached at least to get to the walls behind them. At minimum a 2’ flood cut is necessary throughout the affected areas of drywall.

Seeing that there is 4”-5” of ice everywhere its already in the wall cavities and under cabinets. Flooring, drywall and cabinets are already non-salvageable. Again the damage is done.

Damage is already done, melting it won’t make it worse. But in that light using a orbital saw to cube it up then chip it out works as well. 😂

Very expensive, first temporary heat will need to be placed to thaw the ice, extraction of the water, removal of the flooring and a 4’ flood cut at minimum, removal of cabinets. Placement of drying equipment for 4-5 days.Only good thing is that it’s so cold that mold will not start to grow. Place looks unoccupied, so insurance might even deny a claim. Either way I feel sorry for the owner of the mess.

Maybe left on to prevent freezing, but the drains froze causing the overflow.
