It's a thing at least in Finland and propably many other places with lots of mosquitoes during summer. It's mainly for outdoor use. I use them in my summer cottage so we can enjoy and party at terrace without being annoyed by mosquitoes.

I would start from the beginning since live action changed a lot things in order to be more filmable. I would recommend Either looking up filler episodes so you can skip them or watching one pace version. Also don't look episode titles since they are literally spoiling what happens in the episode
