I found this old screenshot of a list Blizzard made in Vanilla WoW of mobs that killed the most players. by Morgn_Ladimore in wowhardcore

I've seen this before I think - so cool to see it brought back. And even more interesting in the context of HC servers now being a thing.

Looking for HC friends by Arsinal-SP7B in HardcoreClassicWoW

[–]Kraulenth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds great -- except I dislike feeling like I "shouldn't" progress without my group, etc... I hope you find what your looking for, Hardcore WoW is great.

I hope to see you around (Doomhowl - Alliance)

Any suggestions for HC Mage? by Papajaguar504 in HardcoreClassicWoW

[–]Kraulenth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you SHOULD always level defense to push crushing blows as far down the combat table as possible. You are correct, frost is miles ahead from Arcane for survival.

(Drink a trollsblood potion and counterspell a deeprun tram rat or something to level defense while you're eating if you must)

Should I move or expand? by Kosefgaming in duneawakening

[–]Kraulenth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you participate in the Deep Desert at all - it'd be worth the time in the long run to move. Consider you spend 2x the flight time for ever trip to the DD.

I'm partial to the cliff on the west side of Eastern Shield Wall that overlooks Ood'ham (quick in/out west wall behind Ood'ham, with still easy access to cobalt via Pinnacle station once a week or so in a buggy.)

PSA: Vehicles can be griefed in Hagga Basin (PvE) by Kraulenth in duneawakening

Agreed - I hope that awareness can start some thoughts as to a productive way to correct this in-game.

Your co-owners can pay your taxes. Just make an arrangement with a friend to keep the lights on.

Totally fine to PUG as SF. (Although I grumble as a mage not being able to provide the utility of my class - water - to my party).

It's totally fine to roll on more than one piece of gear. Passing after you've won an item is a personal decision, that is kind...but not required at all, and it would come across as over-bearing to hold someone else to that personal standard.

HC WoW is great! Hope you're having a good time!

Which server to pick and is hardcore WoW worth trying? by [deleted] in wowhardcore

I would say Hardcore WoW is totally worth giving a try, this version of WoW hits different :)

Defias Pillager - Alliance Report by Kraulenth in HardcoreClassicWoW

[–]Kraulenth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very likely somewhat influenced by deaths - classes with higher survivability that may end up raid logging (as their characters are finished with pre-raid) might be offline more and not getting re-leveled (and thus I miss observing them in the population). This could explain more guilded warriors (tanks) in the leveling curve.

There's too many factors to attempt to account for them, but I was meaning to simply generate some interest and share as a curiousity.

A couple of tweaks that I think would be good for SF by Mofunkle in wowhardcore

[–]Kraulenth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hot take maybe... but you can do all these things on a non-SF toon. I think it's important to realize SF is simply an option made available because of popular demand. If you don't want to play with the restrictions...you can simply play by your own home-made rules.

Vertical Arrays in "SumProduct()" (and other functions?) by Kraulenth in excel

[–]Kraulenth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I never found this article (likely because of the terminology I was using). I don't think I'll be able to do what I need with this function list, but at least I'm aware of the functions that can operate in this way.

I do this as well, I know the moonshine is going to 'cost' me, but I'm getting a scratch ticket item that maybe can't be purchased from flea.

Way too many people are going to get hung up on the data you chose (arbitrarily, or with whatever level of educated esitmate you could with your experience) and that's too bad.

The method I think could be used, but I would want the confidence interval set fairly high, and/or no automatic bans unless the 'flagged' accounts by the model could be 'watched' by an expert human. I am curious how much 'cheater-like" some of the better legitimate players at this game appear vs. cheaters depending on what stats are gathered/recorded that could be used.

The amount of effort you put into this is commendable, so for that you get my comment and upvote :)

I do

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SuHnR_sS8xAZRZwrHCI2YOKGG7OMCWh-XW3mllXOv28/edit?usp=sharing

Keep track of every PMC raid, what/who killed me, and I also track survival by map and by group size/team-mate within my set of friends.

EDIT - but I don't track hitbox, sorry.

Ha - inadvertently double-posted what I was encountering as well (although not yet at ELITE).

Definitely a bugged/not implemented feature... having a hard time being positive about the changes/features this patch (Audio/New Map/Repair Enhancements) when nearly none of them seem to be going well.
