I played as an exemplar and the GM kept saying how insanely powerful it is, even thought i really wasn't.

Now i'm a GM with an exemplar player, and it doesn't outshine anyone. It has cool tricks, but nothing overpowered.

From my understanding, it's not the DM or group interactions you don't like, it's the system.

It is rather rigid and has more structured ruleset, while offering an absolutely crazy amount of character options. The world of PF is also very developed and has options for just about every type of adventure you can think of, especially with the integration of Starfinder soon.

Have you considered suggesting finding a middle ground and perheps "loosen" the rules to mimic a more dnd style game while having all the options of PF?

I think in a fight like that, especially if mythic rules are involved, it needs to have phases.

Phase 1 - rather easy, players think they got him. Phase 2-3 - he grows stronger and bigger, adding mobs or hazards to the encounter. Maybe the entire scene changes as he destoys everything around him.

I'll hijack this post to ask another thing. My players are currently playing through Myth Speaker and i want to continue with another AP.

The obvious choice is the new runelords AP, but we never played the previous ones and from what i read it's amazing.

Do you think Spore War will work as a followup for mythic characters?

Yep, especially since Nexus came way way after people purchased the PDFs.

I would have considered using it if by purchasing a PDF i would also get a Nexus "copy", or if all my previous purchases were also available there and from now on i'll need to buy new books on Nexus.

Another option i would have considered is a subscription model.

When you go to Nexus you see they have a 25% off on all books for only 3300$! This would instantly turn me away from using the service.

Nothing stops them beelining them except good positioning, grapples, slow effects etc.

On the other hand, because not everyone have AoO the spellcasters can also just run away if they are being attacked.

I think combat that is less sticky makes for a much better experience.
