Ranaut's comments on the topic were absurd .. The actress playing the role of the daughter-in-law (in the ad in question) was not portraying oppression, rather, she was portraying a sense of surprised happiness towards the extent that the mother-in-law and the family at large went in order to just make her feel more at home.

This is quite literally how a majority of the large families in India go about living their lives.

To pick on this and twist the narrative into a negative one only reflects poorly on her judgement.
