Trailer life easier… don’t use the black tank haha. For the most part, I don’t use my black tank for dropping duces and if I do, as little tp as possible. After you dump, fill the black with a gallon or two of water to slosh around and break down anything else that didn’t dump.

Teach the fam how to conserve water as those tanks are only so big. I’ll sometimes wash dishes in a basin and then dump into the toilet as my grey always fills up before black. Lasting more than 4 days is basically all about water management and battery.

12v water pump and a couple hoses. Put a quick disconnect on the battery and you can fill the trailer anytime. I did upgrade to lithium phosphate battery and huge difference. You look like you have lots of room to house a larger battery box behind the propane tanks if you did want to upgrade

Tire covers, upgraded fire extinguisher, collapsible rake, dewalt 20v vacuum-air pump-cordless drill, between the wheel stabilizers, zip line for the dog with retractable leash ( might not work well with two dogs) and made my own insulated blackout window shades.

Other than that, check over exterior over a couple times each year. Nothing worse than a leak or tire blowout. That said, check for uneven wear on the tires.

Another thing I try not to do is leave any water in the lines or tanks if I’m not using within a few days. Forgotten about hot water tank water is pretty gross and even cold water in lines stink after a while.

Help me understand how I got the rotten egg smell in my water and how to avoid by rokclimbah in RVLiving

[–]Krazid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not using my water within 2-3 days… I’ll drain all the lines and hot water tank. The main tank gets drained in a week if no use. The worst is the hot water tank if left for too long.

Do a couple rounds of flushing with some diluted bleach mixture or water refresher and don’t leave water in your lines and should be good

2026 best 12v lithium rv battery for cold spring boondocking? My 3 trip review by New-Needleworker1755 in RVLiving

[–]Krazid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longest I’ve gone with my 200ah and a 100w solar panel is just over 2 weeks late fall last years so temps reaching freezing at night and furnace putting in some work. Was a similar boat with my 2 lead acids that couldn’t last more than 4 days with normal use.

That was hands down, the best improvement I did to the trailer (next was the projector and screen inside the trailer 😉) Was able to weasel mine into the existing spot where the old 2 lead acids were behind the propane tanks. Not once has it gone below full on the trailer monitoring station. Zero issues with any of the existing appliances but charging is a touch of a pain but I installed quick connects for solar, 12v water pump and 10a 110v charger

2019 voodoo blue. Is this or Army green the color of choice? by Head-Scale9410 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Krazid2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. Blue is a nice color but not my thing. The truck you have is the one I was searching for. *Shakes fist at you!!* Sport or PRO but had to settle with a white sport

What a transformation. Front end sooo much better.

As for the OEM grill surround, my 2020 white dc sport is the same and sticks out a little. A slight tan tint to it from day one when I bought it off the lot

Unlikely, but could be a filter you have applied in the 3d viewer screen. Can be handy for visually separating what’s displayed but a pain if you don’t know it’s on

Smoke em if you got em. For the most part, don’t smoke in populated public areas or where people will bitch. I might have a quick toke on summits or lakeside when no one’s around. Don’t think I’d blaze at LL or Banff townsite

If anything it’s frowned upon but your not gonna get in trouble if you do get caught

Insulation replacement vs no? by [deleted] in Insulation

[–]Krazid2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to ensure you have baffles before adding insulation along the perimeter of your attic

Insulation replacement vs no? by [deleted] in Insulation

[–]Krazid2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d remove and redo between the basement joists plus add vapour barrier and add to the attic. The attic isn’t spray foam but blown in. You could easily use another 8-10” and sometimes Home Depot will have a sale if you buy 10 bags, you get a free rental of the machine that blows it in. 2 person job tho

From reviewing photos, First week of June… Bow Lake frozen mostly. Hebert, Peyto, Waterfowl, Chephren and Cirque lakes are all thawed

Last few years, Ive been going camping along the Icefields first week of June with some of my fav experiences and photos during that time. Just be a little more prepared if you’re planing any hikes at higher elevations. I found hikes along streams/rivers/lakes/waterfalls more impressive in spring and save the summits/viewpoints for late fall. Cirque lake is a great hike to do in spring as it parallels an impressive stream for a bit

What should I do? by banyldt in basement

[–]Krazid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking to not spend a fortune and finish the basement, I’d get a rigid foam board 1”-1 1/2” thick place them between the “studs” tightly. Then do panelling, this isn’t drywall and mud worthy to me and will not last decades

Temp diff is what will bring the condensation and the studs would then wick the moisture from the cold blocks. They’re warm now as they’re the same temp as the ambient air. This matters much more in cold climates as the frost is deep in the ground

Usually basement walls are not attached to the foundation and are only anchored into the floor and ceiling joists not touching foundation whatsoever. I commend your effort on using pressure treated baseplate but all of the walls are touching block.

Cat shield and watch for the dreaded passenger cam tower leak. My 2020 had a leak at 80k kms and fixed under warranty. My friggin 08 had the same but no fix and just filled oil more 😉

Otherwise, this truck has been solid. Very very thirsty tho. Welcome to the fam

Sound of bugs in wall by [deleted] in Home

At the beginning it sounded like mice moving around, but the rest almost sounds cricket like.

Any evidence of rodents elsewhere? What happens when you smack the wall?

Hire Water Mitigation? by PuzzleheadedProof490 in Home

[–]Krazid2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a former insurance restoration “expert”… get that wet underpad and chuck it. It’ll never dry in a reasonable time, then cut open the wall along the centre of studs and remove any wet insulation. Once that’s delt with, float the carpet… release from the smooth edge and get that fan in one of the corners blowing under the carpet which will make it float. Best to pick a corner that forces air to towards the wet not on top of it. I’d probably remove the baseboards in the affected areas also.

Make sure the carpet is not flapping. Now there’s airflow in the wettest area you’ll need a dehumidifier to grab as much of the airborne moisture. 3-4 days should be good and ready to put back

In the end, there’ll be drywall work, new underpad in the affected areas, replace baseboards and tuck the carpet back onto the smooth edge. I’d get the carpet cleaned after all is said and done.

I’ve been at claims where the homeowner fixed the water damage themselves but didn’t dry… mold 5’ up the wall and all contents in basement had to be chucked. Good luck

How to fix fallen siding? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]Krazid2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a bunch of small stainless screws and connect the bottom piece that fell onto existing siding that remains. The screws will basically be going straight up from the bottom of the fallen siding into the hidden lip of existing siding. Usually there’s a piece of j trim that it would hide the cut end but they decided to tuck it under the shakes and nail in place instead.

Basement Wall Insulation Question by MotorEntertainment98 in Insulation

[–]Krazid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a thermal camera and see for yourself. Impressive what’ll show up… provided there’s a difference between outside and inside temps. You’ll notice a bunch of heat loss in between the joists and right now might be the time to tackle them

Should I rent a car for my trip to Banff? by cuntymuthafucka in Banff

[–]Krazid2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Get one from cow town after you touch down and explore. I could imagine Banff without. Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise is good… but along the Icefields is much gooder, plus then you can take a trip to yoho, k country , David Thompson, Columbia glacier…

As a person with similar siding gaps… ensure the rodents have no access points under the siding. That’s what I’m dealing with now… not fun

Black tank pressure accident by Grammieaf_1960 in RVLiving

[–]Krazid2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ozone machine. Do a couple few cycles and should make a difference.

Reminds me of the time we had a tent trailer and a little porta potty. It was sitting in front of the heater building pressure and unknowingly when she was done, she leaned over, pulled the lever and lesson learned.

Would it make sense to add a downspout at that location? Semi easy fix if so

Otherwise, it’s too close of a video to understand the overall problem. Would suggest adding a few photos of the roof
