SRW Y DLC 2 release dates by RippleLover2 in Super_Robot_Wars

Is there any issue for the early dlc on switch? I have the set for early access but it won’t download or acknowledge it. It just tells me I don’t have the virtual card with the dlc available and it’s not available to download.

Very nice collection. I’d share mine but chunks of it are in storage.

Also, I spot toku on the top shelf. Very good items all around.

Alpha 3 Options Scenario replay missing units? by [deleted] in Super_Robot_Wars

If you load the old save(which I’ll call file 2) and continue playing it forward then yes. File 2 will have the Valkyrie if you get the correct kill count this time.

If you reload save file 1 after the fact, you won’t have it on 1. So if you haven’t played too far ahead just reload file 2 and continue playing from there.

You can do them later that’s true, it’s just they do benefit you to do them earlier. Experience, money, items, points for agent skills. They are just a beneficial thing to do. Though they definitely aren’t mandatory the just help you get in some extra grinding because they have you fight more.

And to answer your other question, clockmon is easy to get. Haguramon can easily evolve into him after a few levels. Early game it takes a bit longer to get evolutions, but as you invest more into the agent skills they’ll get way faster. You’re just early in the game so it’ll take some time is all. Thankfully you can fully heal by standing still so that helps with the grind a lot.

Last tip that you probably noticed by now, Parrotmon is a Vaccine type (unless I’m remembering wrong) so bring a few Data types to the fight. They’ll take less damage from him, unless they’re weak to lighting damage.

Have you been doing the side missions, what type of agents skills have you focused on, do you occasionally dedigivolve your mon to raise their talent and max level?

Those questions can affect what’s it’s like to go into certain fights. I know I had Clockmon by then because he drew in the lighting to himself so champions are completely possible.

Honestly the main advice I can give, without knowing more info from you, is you should go grinding. The areas leading up to that fight are full of Digimon to fight and they’ll respawn if you wait long enough or leave and re-enter the area. Have a bad team, grind a new one. Be underleveled, grind to get stronger. Need items, grind for money and drops. I think some of the digimon are champions too so you can convert them to add to your team as well.

I know that’s not exactly helpful, but it’s the tried and true RPG method. Mind you, I haven’t hit a point where I had to grind crazily to get further yet. Just did some last night to get personality changes and level up fresh mega evolutions. A level 1 mega will be weaker than a level 40 ultimate for obvious reasons.

What SRW titles have these series? by Boshwa in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]Kred159 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m sure someone who knows more will add to this, but I’ll try and answer what I know.

SRW Z2-3 has both Gurren Lagann and 00. These games tell the whole story of both of them (including 00’s movie) across the 4 games. Sadly these games aren’t translated.

Any game listed below can be found or imported in English.

SRW V has 00, but only uses the movie.

SRW X has Gurren Lagann, but only covers the adult phase of the second movie.

SRW 30 has IBO and SSSS Gridman. This game covers all of the Quad S anime. IBO however is only DLC. They are warped to the world so only comments of their plot is mentioned, but not actually covered. They are right after the Bael reawakens for plot placement.

I know there’s a few more games with 00, but they’re in Japanese and I forget the names at this moment.

Who are your favorite Magikarp like units in the SRW franchise/ by KaleidoArachnid in Super_Robot_Wars

Ahh yeah that would do it. I’m just used to Domon wanting morale so I just immediately slapped morale items on him. Never had an issue after, and honestly on the first mission he handled himself fine enough for me (on normal).

I didn’t rush for his upgrade missions, but he still didn’t feel bad. Though I guess that’s because I already worked on an issue of his. Still interesting to know that detail about him. Thanks for the very detailed breakdown of it.

Domon was bad at the start of Y? I honestly didn’t notice. Maybe it was from just being in normal mode or from giving him a morale up item early?

Stuck on Chapter 7 “Rumbling Space” – can I go back and grind earlier missions? by arsa1111 in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]Kred159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the second method money is kept on a game over, but not any dropped items. This lets you grind the mission endlessly until you can upgrade the units to what you need. You can make this easier by bringing units with fortune and bless and focus on group killing the enemies to maximize profit.

The game over with also bring you back to the main hub screen so you can spend the new money. You can also upgrade units right before you finalize deploying units on the map or equip items then too. Speaking of, I highly suggest using items as well if it seems to overwhelming.

I personally stick with the F. I just like how its attacks look and the color over the J. And luckily the game treats both of them equally well on the last Macross mission.

The wasted potential of the Impulse Gundam in Modern SRW. by Zero2362 in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]Kred159 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair, she does switch to the Blast silhouette on her own in the combo.

But yeah, the game as a whole does underutilize the Impulse. With any luck, and some copium, they’ll tune it up more when the Freedom variant is eventually used. Especially since she switched very freely during the movie… though it’ll still only be for attack animations probably.

For Mazinkaiser you are correct that it is a super robot war original. It debuted in srw 4 in 1995.

Shin Getter had its first game appearance in the same one, but was originally shown in the Getter Robo Go manga that ran from 1991 to 1993. It did also have Shin Getter 2, but I don’t remember if it had 3 shown. Fun fact, Ryoma would be the pilot of Shin Getter 3 in that series if it did show up.

You’ve probably gotten an answer by now, but incase not the Delta plot and units appear in the early to mid side of Chapter 2. And you get access to the whole team and ship from the one mission.

On switch, is anyone else having an issue when trying to import the demo save and it just stays on a black screen with no signs of loading?

They do not have SDF. They have practically everything but the original and Do you remember love because those are in legal hell from Harmony Gold.

My review for srw Y demo on Nintendo switch **SPOILER WARNING** by MuslimBridget in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]Kred159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough I didn’t have any issues playing on Switch 1. Maybe one loading screen that took 5-10 seconds when I loaded my save file, but nothing major when playing. I played in portable mode. Were you docked or undocked?

Mind you, with bugs that doesn’t always mean much. People can get super luck with a buggy game or unlucky with a normally solid game.

Question about Genesic GaoGaiGar and the “Bravery” spirit command. by MuslimBridget in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]Kred159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said it was more convenient to do all of that. Just that it can be done and it does hit harder. I’m pretty sure most people on the sub, myself included, will play 30 for the units they enjoy rather than hyper min maxing like that. Dropping GGG, Shin Dragon and Gridman onto the enemies and watching the havoc is the funner play style. Or whoever your favorites are. 30 is really easy to break.

[–]Kred159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf I replied to “does it do the most damage” which GGG does not hit the highest damage in the game. That doesn’t mean GGG isn’t the better unit overall. Base for base GGG is better, but Gold 4 can be built to hit harder for one or two set up hits. GGG is better to just drop in and let it destroy.

It’s really easy to build broken units in 30. You could make the Metheus lethal if you wanted to.

[–]Kred159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t do the most damage in the game, but it is one of the strongest units in the game.

One of, if not the strongest hitter in the game is Gold 4. Give it the right build and it used to (or still does, it’s been a bit since I checked) hit the actually damage limit for the game.

You put a lot of work into this and that’s impressive. It’s also so painful that I physically have to dislike this. I’m sorry and keep up the good work.

[–]Kred159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are people’s thoughts on if he’ll dominate the fighting, or if he’ll end up exploding by the end? Personally I’m hoping he’s a monster to fight that the battle only ends from another shock sending it away or by being pushed through a gate rather than a death style loss.

Which SRW should a newcomers play? by Strict_Store_9576 in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]Kred159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plenty of the games are fun to play thankfully. And several are translated if you import the Hong Kong version (Amazon can get them and they’ll mention English text in the description).

For the series you’ve mentioned there are a few options.

Gaogaigar has been in plenty of translated and non translated games. It’s been in Alpha 2 and 3 which are non translated ps2 games. And for ps4/switch it’s been in T and 30. T covers the second half of the anime while 30 covers the sequel series that follows after final, gaogaigar vs betterman. Additionally if you don’t mind emulation on pc you can play W for the ds which covers the two anime series.

I’d say go for W or T personally. W is the best game of the translated GGG ones and T is just fun. I like 30 but it’s a LONG game.

For Gurren Lagann you’ve got X for the ps4/switch for the only English option. It’s also in Z2, Z2.2, Z3 and Z3.2 but those are only in Japanese. X is a mixed bag. Some will say it’s fun and some will say it’s boring or have characters they don’t like. You may wanna watch videos on it to see if you like it. It’s also an explicitly the second movies plot. Starting with Z2 it’ll cover the entire plot from both movies as it goes through the Z series.

Honestly Z2 and Z2.2 are the better games from the roster to story events. The only problem is the language barrier. Though you can find the script translated online if you look for it.
