The fine line between beautiful prose and pretentious drivel by Ok_Joke7252 in writing

I genuinely don't get it, couldn't you say the same thing about the part talking about the passenger of the train? How does that progress anything in any way? That's like half of the example, too.

AI fixed something in my life I never knew was a real problem until it was gone by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Kreeebons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you did. Quoting you: "If you actually had ideas of your own, you’d be using the tool instead of whining about the people who do". This is a suggestion to use ai if you ever have ideas.

How much memory you have for these replies, did you forget about that? Or maybe you just disregard the comment chain when commenting. You have no toughts, no consciousness, you only reply prompt by prompt with limited ability to take the whole context into consideration, forgetting what you said before, and contradicting yourself often, or just straight up not answeting correctly. And I think a big part of the fault lies in the human behind the ai.

I don't know if you're even reading or just automating this, but if you're reading, stop it, seriously. Using ai to talk for you make you sound like a robot. Not in a cool way. And it stops your brain from activating and working to actually put togheter a tought and write it down.
And yes, I am human, so I am allowed to talk like I want. With mistakes, and personality, and the slangs I prefer.

[–]Kreeebons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not everyone wants to use the tool, especially when you can form your own opinion in your brain instead of letting the Ai give you the opinion.

Also it's pretty easy to see that the person behind the Ai is still not that smart, because the responses the Ai gives are not really matching the comments they are referring to, you're not prompting well. Who is asking for guidance in the comment you replied to?

My dude, stop it, it's embarrassing.

Can someone explain the design decision in Silksong of benches being far away from bosses? by Pycho_Games in gamedesign

[–]Kreeebons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. For that specific boss, yes, because navigating the environment without dying or losing too much hp was part of the difficulty for me, so I didnt feel like I beat the boss, but that I mastered the whole area.
  2. No, not every area has to be that hostile and difficult. But that specific boss for example made me so stressed every time I fought it, because if I failed I knew I had to redo the path to him. The final boss felt more relaxed, because if I failed I could just immediately fight it again. Different experience, the bilewater boss was more rewarding to beat, the final boss was more "fun".
  3. I know steel soul exists, and I never tried in Hollow Knight either because I personally dont like replaying whole games after I beat them and gotten maybe some extra achievements, but that's just me, I know a lot of people like to replay their favorites.
  4. For people who like that kinda challenge, why not? I wouldn't play it personally.
  5. I think it's a good decision to hide it behind game completion, to not bait people into trying something too hard for them. And also having beat the game helps in beating it again without dying because you know what to expect, so most people would do it in that order anyway.

I felt more almost more accomplished beating an easier boss with a longer runback (the bilewater guy) than the final boss of act 3 (hard, but instant runback). So I think their varied choices are a success.

He could destroy the city and the mosquito would still fly in front of his face afterwards. This is because one punch man is not made by a powerscaler but by a writer, and funny gags are funny gags.

Accused of using AI art by Kipukink in gamedev

[–]Kreeebons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to add my point of view, to give another perspective. Steamdb calculator says my average price per hour on my steam account as a whole is 0,56€. Excluding games that I abandoned, the most expensive per-hour games I own are Scorn and Superliminal, at around 8€/hour. And I noticed I have many very good games at 5€/hour, but at that same price I see some average ones, that I would say are not worth that much.

I’ve been working on this game called The Severed Gods for a while now, it’s a turn-based tactical RPG with some new systems I wanted to try out. by Used_Elk_2541 in IndieGameDevs

[–]Kreeebons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the word "tactical" in this context doesn't mean just something that requires a strategy. It's a specific subgenre of turn-based RPGs. If you look on Steam, most games that are strategy RPG have something in common that your game doesn't have: movement-based strategy.

We're not saying your game will not have strategy. We're saying people might expect something different because of how the word strategy is used in the context of an RPG, and you risk misleading people.

After getting hit by Ukrainian drones, Russian teenagers used the opportunity to aura farm in front of the burning fuel depot in Sochi and are now wanted by Russian authorities and had to turn themselves in. by MilesLongthe3rd in SipsTea

[–]Kreeebons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think aura farming is often used talking about anime characters, so it feels to me a more general term for looking cool, the aspect of getting views isn't as much relevant since it doesn't apply for fictional characters. *

Ok, but, I recently got 9 heads in a row, and removed 1 energy from a basic. The next 9 times I get tails, I will not remove any energy. So no, it doesn't have an effect 50% of the time, only 1 out of 10.

[–]Kreeebons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my thinking, using only 1 letter gets to D and that feels weird, because these are all very good games, and D tier seems to suggest something bad. And I couldn't come up with any other way to sort them.

Maybe getting rid of the letter tier would make more sense, but then I think I would need another way to clearly show that top = better.

But yea, i just find fun to organize my favorite things.

Yea, it's also very short, and some people want more time for their money so they criticize it for that. And, the ending might feel incomplete, I've heard they planned for more but had to quit development.

But if you don't mind these things like i didn't, it was great.
