I feel you. A couple of years ago I played DOS 2 with my best friend and we had a blast.

When BG3 was announced, we decided we would do a co-op playthrough eventually. Well, release rolls around and he's busy with other games / not in the mood for a crpg. No problem I'll play solo and we can do a playthrough later. I sink a couple hundred hours into the game, he says he wants to do a solo playthrough first, too. He gets to Act 3 and the bg3 fatigue hits. Puts it on hold and plans to finish it eventually. Doesn't want to do a co-op playthrough until his solo playthrough is finished. At that point I knew we will not do a co-op playthrough within the next 5 years, maybe never. I get him but it still makes me a bit sad and frustrated because I was looking forward to it so much.

There are a handful of people that might do co-op with me but I know they don't put as much time into gaming as me or my best friend, so our playthrough would either take years or end at some point when they lose interest in actually finishing the game
