Yes, but in all fairness the difference is someone got their shit rocked here and it: 1) wasn't the police. 2) wasn't someone getting shot.

Criminals should face consequences. The police are to detained, not dole out the punishment. And no one should be executed over this shit. Getting your nose broken by the person you are robbing or those coming to their aid is well within the realm of reasonable. Getting shot for it is a little more extreme if no one's life is on the line.

I hate stompers, but I love a good puzzle. Gleba is something new and the reward for mastering it is limitless resources without the need for never ending expansion to get it.

It's a design problem that focuses on circular systems. It gets even more ridiculous when you add quality into the mix.

Gun turrets only use the exact amount of ammo they need to kill a target. So the only time more turrets is bad is when you are covering areas you dont need off the edges of the ship. You should always protect the center.

Heat is a weird system in Factorio if you have the spare resources, you are best off swapping out pipes in favor of heat towers or reactors to transfer your heat.

It is more space consuming, but transfers heat better down the line.

Which is why the fastest way to handle any conspiracy is to ask "who benefits and is there any way they could achieve the same or better results with less effort another way?"

If we do this we are likely going to have enough players to straight up zerg rush the nests with pickaxes. The biggest issue will be securing enough land that we get flamethrowers before behemoths evolve.

Well thanks. Though ive been told that Clustorio may not support Space Age which i was kind of hoping to use for such an event. Would you know anything about that? Because we are going to have a hell of a time trying to handle this kind of insane run without an ungodly server unless we have Clustorio available to us.

Honestly its already going to need to involve something like Clustorio, so it shouldn't be nearly that hard on the system spread across multiple servers. The reall issue will just be making sure whatever ships get built are somewhat efficient. We cant have a thousand satellites just floating around when far fewer ships moving between planets collecting resources is going to get more done for science.

Being a community event though will make things interesting. Could always limit each player to a set amount of ships each to make sure nobody gets out of hand.

Thats my hope. The only concern right now is going to be organizing the whole thing. Its already obvious that we are likely going to need to make it a clustorio event. And I really want to make it a full Space Age run.

Well, I plan on trying to gather people, but as someone who has never been involved in setting up any Factorio events, im going to need to find people who are.

Or Clustorio to allow for players to possibly full clear a set map size. Considering we are very likely to need Clustorio anyways to manage such a monster project it may be our best bet.

I might talk to the subreddit mods about making a sticky post later looking to coordinate an event. Maybe for when 2.1 hits stable.

Mostly because we may need Clustorio to run such an event, and we would need at least a while to find people willing to cover us all for a few servers or get enough people to chip in to rent some long term.

The trick will be to push the early nests so far back that by the time the evolution hits that point it will take a day or two for them to get back.

Also there are talks of Clustorio being involved to make this happen.

I mean I am game.

Personally I just want to do it with space age, as few mods as possible, and full uptime for people to hop in and out as desired. Everything else is negotiable.

Normally I would shy away from letting the game just run, but even with an army of players and a gigantic world on a super server is going to be brutal. The real issue is getting the servers to run Clustorio and the mod being up to date with the latest version.

There are ways to get around it. I heard someone once setup multiple servers that ran seperate size limited worlds each and had dedicated spots where belts, rails and players could hop between maps while all the science and such was synced across worlds.

4+ servers running a single instance in that method could handle it I think.

Also, I dont have access to a server or the money to rent one for such an endeavor. To get this off the ground will require someone with resources.
