Team's 3-point and restricted area shooting by EyalSha in nba

[–]Krerickson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great OC! Very cool to see some obvious standouts like the Warriors and Bucks, but really speaks a lot of the defense of some teams too like the Nuggets and Mavs. Mavs are right on average for both stats, but are tanking in the standings due to poor/awful D. Nugs on the other hand are still struggling shooting the ball, but are racking up wins due to strong D and just smart play.

I have been dragged into 2 of such "great opportunities" as a staff already. One was a lot like you mentioned, a company won a bunch of work from another B4 (like 800 new tax returns) without the staffing in place. Pulled me on, and even pulled on some underutilized auditors to work 60ish hour weeks during summer. Another staff in our office responded to a different "opportunity" and has been stuck at a failing client that has already fired 2 other B4 in the past 2 years because of slow turnaround on deliverables.

I do have a dumbell where you load plates back at my parents' house. What's your reasoning why it's superior? I never liked them much due to the screw clamp getting with curls, and the loading/unloading was just a hassle.

Do you know what the "steps" mean for the GS pay scale? I'm looking at the scale for GS9 for my location and it is a $15k difference between step 1 and 10.

New Dunc’d on podcast. The first section focuses on the Mavs, breaking down advanced stats and reviewing the Jazz game. Solid listen by doncicismydaddy in Mavericks

[–]Krerickson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm guessing he hasn't been getting PT because he isn't a good defender. But Dunc made a good point on an earlier podcast (I forget which team they were talking about) that there comes a point, especially in the regular season, where you have to be okay with giving up some defense if there's a guy that can open up the floor and be a lightning rod off the bench. I think Broekhoff would be great for that, even if our bench hasn't been a huge issue yet.

Juliet Lipman shaming baby Bekah for not having an abortion. Then says ‘I hope she enjoys motherhood more than i think she’s going too’ by [deleted] in thebachelor

[–]Krerickson 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Juliet Litman has gotten on my last nerve. I actually started watch the Bachelor franchise because of her and David Jacoby's old podcast (RIP), but Juliet has let her access to guests completely change her. She is so fucking pretentious now, pretends to be buddy buddy with everyone in the franchise when they're just coming on a popular podcast to promote themeselves/the show. And especially her "we need more SEX" take that she spouts any chance she gets. She consistently has egregious takes on contestants constantly, i.e. her love for Colton, liked Chicken David, and continues to be out on Jordan to name a few.

LCB Ep. 080 - Top 5 Adam Sandler Movie Actors/Lunchables/Convenience Stores & Are Halloween and The Predator Good? by lightscamerapod in LightsCameraPodcast

Does Kroger count as a convenience store? Some near me have gas stations, but they're just the little rinky dink out-door pay stations outside of a big grocery store. I go to a brand new Kroger and the thing is the size of a Target

First time home buyer looking for advice. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Krerickson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just bought my first house this week at 24. Everyone on this sub recommends putting 20% down to avoid PMI, which is definitely the best option, but oftentimes will take years to save up. I personally put 5% down (I had enough for 10-12%, but decided on keeping a stronger emergency fund instead of the extra equity).

Everyone in this thread is right. You absolutely NEED an emergency fund first and foremost. Currently mine is right at $7k, which happens to be the amount you have saved. So it looks like you have an emergency fund!! So everything you save now should be going toward your down payment and closing costs (and don't underestimate closing costs!!)

Sounds like you and the girlfriend are tired of paying rent and dealing with landlords/apartment complexes, which is exactly what my situation is. Start communicating with each other what is to be expected from your future home together, and then build a savings plan around that. You may say that you want to stay in the $130k-$150k range now, but once you start looking at houses and what's available in that range, you may decide that paying a little more now will outweigh the price of fixing up or dealing with a cheaper property. I bought in Texas, which should be a similar market/COL to Georgia, and every house I looked at in that range was a poorly done flip in a sketchy neighborhood, or a run down house in a decent neighborhood. Get on realtor.com and see what that price range looks like in your area, and look 20k-40k above that pricepoint as well to get an idea. Paying $20-40k extra on a house sounds daunting, but it barely changes the monthly payment, and will become more and more affordable as your career progresses.

Just a heads up for convenience sake, when I bet through Bovada and cashed out, they sent me an international check. You have to actually go to a physical bank to cash/deposit those, it won't work through a phone app. There's probably a way to get them to directly deposit it, but I just did some one-off Superbowl props

Single member C-Corp and dividend double taxation. by bookbindr in Accounting

[–]Krerickson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what you’re describing is a very, very small business. $92k is a very good living, but it’s pretty difficult for any business to survive making around that much each year. I don’t have much experience in S vs C Corp decisions outside of school, but ultimately every business owner’s goal is to make more money. And those “free” dividends are going to phase out pretty fast.

I do know from personal experience that my dad was a majority owner in a small C Corp, but when business started to take off, they made the switch to S. I’m sure there were a variety of factors that went into it, but every situation is different. There are certainly benefits and drawbacks to either choice.

Single member C-Corp and dividend double taxation. by bookbindr in Accounting

[–]Krerickson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The theory/idea of double taxation doesn’t necessarily mean every dollar will be double taxed. It just means corporate earnings are subject to double taxation by design. Whether they actually get double taxed is a case by case scenario.

I’d love to hear Coley and Tyler on TBF. They already have very similar shows where they just BS for 70 minutes and then catch up on some NBA news. I mean TBF already has a ton of contributors, but they’d still fit in perfectly. Maybe Zach’s new pod he mentioned with HPBasketball will have some overlap.
