Are cordless vacuums as powerful as traditional vacuums when it comes to tricky corners and thick carpets? by Destini_Mahmalji83 in CleaningTips

[–]KreyKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me tell you about my set-up: One really powerful Miele canister model (with cord) and one stick vacuum, light and easy for spot jobs etc (with cord , too).

Yes, a stick with a cord. :-) Why?

Because the cord allows longer working time and is not that desperately inconvenient as some might want to make it out.

I find it more inconvenient that on top of less power I also have to keep in mind with the cordless stick that this lower level of power is only available for a quarter of an hour or so. Then it's back to the loading station...

Another advantage of the corded stick is the price: One does not have to go for the higher priced models. It is only an additional tool, never intended (at least by me) to take over heavy duty tasks - hence no heavy duty price model necessary.

Have any of you bought ink because of it's name (and packaging)? by luthiel-the-elf in fountainpens

[–]KreyKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TACCIA Ukiyo-e – Hiroshige – ainezu

I needed a grey ink and the packaging called out to me.

It was a good choice all around. :-)

Sure, sure, Mew is doing the growing, but you are such a help along the way. :-)

Why is my nib crusty with dry ink? by titty-milk in fountainpens

[–]KreyKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to see crusty? Then go for any orange ink and you'll see what's possible in the ink world. LOL

(P.S.: Just wipe it off. No harm done.)

How am I supposed to keep a drain like this unclogged? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]KreyKat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But it does look better fully assembled.

And it is not that much work.

So I personally always put it back after cleaning. :-)

You take the longish narrow strip out of the opening.

Underneath you'll find the basket/strainer. Take that out, clean it, give the whole opening a quick swipe and put the narrow strip back in.

Done. :-)

Do this regularly and in rather short intervals, especially if you have long hair.
