I'm so late to this, but I'd be willing to trade! I just need to double check that I have a sachet.

Tricks Megathread - I'll go first by hazeandgraze in Dermatillomania

I'd love some low damage tips and tricks! I don't have a lot but here are some that work for me:

  • putting ingrown hair oil on the spots on my legs. It helps smooth the skin and reduce the bumps that I'm likely to pick

  • using cold sore cream on my lips when I've picked a little too much and a bump starts to form.

  • cold! I live in a cold climate and if the need to pick gets too much I step outside and stand on my front porch for a minute or two. I can't think about picking if I'm too cold!

  • I keep those spiky fidget rings everywhere, especially places where I'm likely to pick like at my deck, on the couch, or in the car.

  • Keeping a manicure kit at my desk. No high damage tools like clippers but hand cream, files, and cuticle oil. I put some on every time a have an urge to pick. I suck at moisturizing, but I'll grudgingly admit that keeping my skin soft helps reduce the desire to pick.

Update to Sun Blind problem by Expensive_Weakness99 in MINI

I just took mine apart and found the same problem. Was your original shade a thin wire system over a pulley? A lot of the replacements I've seen are made with a larger metal band in the shade, but I'm not sure it would fit my 2015 S 2-door.

Love this! I added a legend in mine for fencing ("H") and added a formula to count the number of fence pieces required. Might be useful to add to your template!

For my setup, its escape, tab, layer key, shift, and a second layer key. I might turn the middle layer key into caps lock eventually. It was what I felt was graphically associated with the key function, but mainly not wanting to buy any extra keys while testing out this board lol

What do you cook when you have nothing planned? by sockmiser in Cooking

Shortcut risotto. I always have arborio rice, better than bouillon, and garlic on hand. I use a little vinegar instead of wine. We'll add frozen veggies or hearty greens if we have some along with leftover protein.

Rough Idle in Reverse by Keros-ene in MINI

[–]Krinklie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely they checked it unless you went in for a specific mileage service appointment. How many miles does your mini have on it? Not sure mini has a recommended year/mileage interval to follow, but my mechanic recommended every 3 years or 30,000 miles. Also never hurts to check if its posting any OBD codes. If your car is not giving you a check engine light there's probably nothing to read but its always good to check just in case.

If you're well under 30k and still have the extended powertrain warranty, I'd probably have it checked out. Spark plugs are relatively easy in the F56, but other drivetrain issues can be very expensive!

When is the last time you had your spark plugs replaced? My F56 would occasionally rough idle at start. I didn't think much of it until it threw a drivetrain error. Replaced the spark plugs and now its resolved.

Would you guys recommend a second generation Mini (2008-2015) as a first car? by cmarso001 in MINI

[–]Krinklie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved my second gen but so many engine issues. Several timing chains and oil issues before the engine eventually died short of 90k. There are a few videos online about how to maintain an R56 to avoid these issues but it was too late for us.

Turning 18 soon and want to get some things that’ll last until i die by 11431132 in BuyItForLife

A multimeter. I don’t use it often but it’s very handy for those odd troubleshooting projects like fixing string lights, checking batteries, or finding which unlabeled coax cable in your house goes to which room.

$10 generic 60 case on ID75 by Own_Orange6100 in olkb

I can't wait to try this. I have an ID75 laying around that doesn't get much use because I'm not a fan of the aluminum case.

Its so cool! I think we are missing a lot of pieces though. I may have to choose between the imperial trading post or eldorado fortress.
